I come here at least once a month. The dining area is meant to bring to mind a Belgian roadhouse, but it is really the chapel of an old funeral home! The food is really outstanding with menu items you won’t see anywhere else (marrow!). This is also my favorite brewery in a town with some really great ones. They specialize in Belgian style brews, but also walk on the wild side with creative flavors and combinations. The best!!!

Very cool atmosphere and great food. The poutine of the day was really good and the burger was delicious. I only wish the menu had a few more options, but overall a great place for beer and food.

This place! Apart from the well-known quality beer (Belgian-influenced, if you’re not familiar), the food is amazing – try any featured specials and you’ll be safe, but especially don’t miss mainstays like the handmade burgers (best you’ve ever had), truffle frites, and duck nachos. We had a citrus shrimp sope that was amazing, and the terrific asparagus tart and pastrami sandwich. Flights are great to sample multiple beers, and the outdoor seating is lovely in good weather. We’ve always had good service, and recommend checking out the bar area, including the stained glass above.

Another great place in Grand Rapids. I really like the beer, don’t let the whole Belgium thing scare you away as they have a very broad selection that will work with anyone. Also, the best Pastrami sandwich out there in GR!Solid Food, Beer and Service … worth the trip!

Never leave here dissatisfied. A little quieter than the breweries in the heart of downtown. Vivant is a gem.12 May, 2014Try the Solitude beer. I will definitely be coming back here.

Great Burgers. Best burger I’ve ever eaten, and I love burgers. Place is a little pricey but the food is worth it. The poutine looks like a mess but it’s also delicious; thankfully, they use cheese curds in it.Great beer selection and atmosphere too, love that it’s in an old church.

Omg…….had the strangest beer that I am now in love with. I don’t like Belgium beers or so I thought. The French farmhand ale is out of this world. Tastes like the most tart but smooth Granny Smith apple wine….but no fruit added , just the magic of the brewer, his grain and his yeast……truly genius
