Stopped in during artprize cause it was the only bar open til 8 on Sunday. Great staff, super nice and understanding of our street clothes. Had some really great drinks made by Mathew and a pretty good dessert. We will definitely be back to try the steaks. That’s for making our night a little bit better. It is pricey but you get what you pay for and you here you get a lot!
Classic, classy, and a really great meal.. The Chop House is well worth reviewing! It’s located within the downtown area (very walkable) and definitely reminds me of some amazing steakhouses I’ve been to.First off, the menus are iPads, which is a trend I continue to see. But in this case, every menu item could be selected to display a photo, so you had a good idea of what you were ordering. I also realized this interactive menu gives the servers a bit more down time between getting your drinks and taking your order. Not a bad strategy!I also want to give credit to The Chop House for having meals served la franaise… it just looks and feels sooooo fancy to have multiple servers place the dishes down on the table all in unison at once! Kudos! Fancy!I started the meal with a glass of champagne and the French Onion Soup, which was very tasty. I’m weird about French onion soup… I eat the cheese/bread, slurp the broth, and leave the onions! (Classy me.) But it was really good. I also snapped a picture of my coworker’s steak, because it came out with that amazing bone attached wowzers. For my meal, I chose the filet mignon and a half portion of the macaroni. Everything came out hot and perfectly cooked. All of the side dishes are family-sized, shareable portions, but you can always choose a half-size as well. It was ample! I can definitely see why people have recommended that I visit The Chop House at least once while I’m in Grand Rapids… it’s classic, classy, and a really great meal. adventuresinaubreyland.com
Dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Exceptional! The food and service were exceptional. The restaurant is small and gets loud with the kitchen traffic.
It may cost, but it’s definitely worth it. I absolutely love this place. Along with The Electric Cheetah. But this place is hands down the best steak house you will find in GR
Very good food. Solid. Expensive, but worth it. I’ve been there multiple times -consistent product.
Classy. My boyfriend and I went here for valentines day. I ordered the beef wellington, medium rare and it was pink and dripping in the center. That is exactly how I like my meat. Thank you Chop House. I also ordered the lobster bisque and baked three cheese macaroni which was creamy and spicy. The service was excellent. We never had to ask for anything.
Applebees steak is better. Never do fancy places because food is always just decent. Spent $200 on a steak, salad, lobster tail, and some potatoes. Not happy, not just the price the fact that a $45 steak tastes like mc donalds breakfast steak, actually that has more flavor. Save your money go elsewhere
