Sunday Brunch 27 Floors up is kind of hard to beat… Beautiful Restaurant over looking Grand Rapids that just has a way of making you feel on-top of the city. Service staff was attentive and extremely professional. Buffet hands down a wonderful diverse pallet pleasing thangg and to be finished with the most adorable delicious desserts mmhmm. Highly recommended if your willing to drop some money.

DISAPPOINTING: Extremely …. DISAPPOINTING:Extremely overpriced food that doesn’t even taste that great at all. It’s crap, and they severely overcooked my expensive steak

Meals are not worth the cost – dissatisfied and appetite disappointment. Large dinner group experience on January 10, 2014. Ordered Shanghai spring rolls that were over cooked, too crispy and had a burnt appearance. Ordered Beef-bim bop that was terrible! to much sauce (soy sauce? saturated) the sauce overpowered the flavor of the meal and the meat was dry, couldn’t eat much of the meal. The Grilled spice rubbed pork chop, the pork chop was over cooked – very dry and hard to cut with a knife.

Seriously disappointing. This is an odd restaurant. The atmosphere is disorganized and the staff’s professionalism is lacking. The hostess began leading half our party to the table while the other half was still dropping coats at the coat check. When we got to the table, two other workers were rearranging the dishes on the table, causing our party to linger around the table, unable to sit, for a minute or two. That may not seem long, but the isle was tight and servers were dodging past us to deliver food to other tables. The whole restaurant smelled like we had walked into a cheap Chinese food place: grease and sweet/sour sauce. The food was odd too. The flavors and ingredients were not cohesive and seemed like a poor attempt at Chinese/Thai/Korean/American fusion. After our entrees, we ordered coffee and one member ordered creme brle. The dessert did not come (I even flagged down a server) until we were all done with our coffees. All said and done, I will not go back to Cygnus. It was not an enjoyable experience and it was nowhere near worth the cost.

Star Struck. While on vacation we decided to splurge on dinner at what is reported to be Michigan’s best restaurant. I have no idea whether that accolade is correct, but from our experience it darn well could be.Cygnus is the name of a constellation of stars visible in the northern sky. Cygnus 27 is a 27th floor restaurant in the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel that keeps reaching for the stars. And the stars seem happy for all that attention. The atmosphere is wonderful, matched only by the view from the huge windows that line three walls. Lounge type music plays throughout the complex, setting a funky vibe that is sure to please many diners, as well as those parked at the translucent bar which makes up the front part of the restaurant. Our servers were equal parts attractive and knowledgable about the menu, and were able to answer every question we had. Our main server also recommended several appetizers as well as main course items. We were very pleased with her suggestions. Everything from the soups to our entrees were fabulous. Sauces were excellent. Even the bread basket, which contained four distinct breads, was delicious. My scallops and shrimp dinner were served marinated in rum, then lit, flamb style over super wide noodles. Mmmmm! Save room if you can for dessert. You will be glad you did. This is a special occasion restaurant for those on limited budgets. However, given the extremely professional Ievel of service, the ambrosial quality of the food, and the modern yet relaxing atmosphere, I feel it is very much worth it.Food: AService; AAtmosphere: AMenu Sophistication: AValue: A
