Great service, food, music, and atmosphere. I ordered the Guinness Cheese Bread and it was awesome. My husband ordered the Reuben and it was great. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. I’ll be going back.

Great lunch!. Was out making some sales calls downtown and stopped in for a bite of lunch. Ordered the veggie wrap (trying to lose some winter weight gain). Showed up in just minutes and was very good. The owner and manager even asked how everything was. How many places do that?
What happened to this place? Always had poor Irish food, but at least a great atmosphere and beer selection. Now the service is terrible, beer selection and food are terrible. Too bad.
Bad Experience Feb 2013. Is this bar a write off for someone?Who would you run a place so poorly and have a vested interest into it?Rude bartender, Rude servers or non existent, had to flag them down.We have been in there before and both times we kept our winter jackets on.There heat distribution was terrible, more should come out of the hvac units near the door and less it the back (common sense).We first sat at the bar and asked her about heat or the existence of it,she said it will be warmer later as it fills up. WHAT??we were there at 8pm and it did fill up at 10 and guess what , we were still frozen.We sat at a table for 4 near the end of the bar by the 2 tables away from the entranceour toes were frozen (this will not keep people coming back) there were 4 bouncers around us that were doing nothing but really didn’t care that we didn’t have a server.I had to flag one of them and ask them if they had servers. He said yeah, why?I nodded to our empty table and he said oh! I then asked him the obvious next question, can we have one.We did eventually get one but she was so overwhelmed I had to hunt her down for the 3rd round (our last), plus we were frozen.There are too many other places that want our business and really work hard for it.We were there to see the band Cheap Dates (good band)and were so disappointed, we will never go back, there weren’t a few things wrong almost everything was mismanaged, too bad because it used to be one of the classics downtown.
Good food. Wandered downtown Grand Rapids, checking the many restaurants. Picked Flanagan’s as a middle of the road choice. Food was very good, prices reasonable. Wife thought the Shepherd’s Pie was great. Just the right blend of ingredients, very flavorful, and filling. It had a home cooked taste. Servers were attentive and prompt with refills. Only one negative was amount of time to get the bill and be on our way. Samantha was our server and very busy, as she was the only waitress on the floor. Good job Samantha.
Not Irish, a downtown bar. Nothing on the menu’s Irish except ‘seasonal’ Irish stew. Serve Guinness and a couple other Irish beers, but mostly the American standards. Have more vodka or tequila or scotch than Irish whiskey.
