New favorite. Don’t do what i did and live in this town as long as I have and wait as long as I did to try this gem. We liked everything about this place. The atmosphere was comfortabe, the service was spot on (Brian – excellent job), and our meals were superb. And, we considered it very reasonably priced for the level of quality delivered. My foodie friends recommended this place over and over and I finally gave it a shot. The sad thing was that I waited so long. A must try.
Make reservations or you’ll end up in the bar… Which is still absolutely awesome! Unless you want a more intimate setting.
The best seafood in town!! Absolutely fabulous food from beginning to end. You won’t be disappointed! Definitely save room for dessert, the homemade desserts are a must have.
Mmm… The Bouillabaisse is AMAZING. Great spot, great atmosphere.
Went for Thanksgiving dinner. Nothing to write home about. Very dry turkey. The portions were huge though. All the sides were very good.
I haven’t been to a place in GR where each dish is perfectly prepared until Leo’s! Wow! My partner and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner there last night and we were thoroughly impressed with the food and service. I highly recommend the mussels and lobster/shrimp cake as an appetizer. My girlfriend enjoyed the scallops wrapped in salmon as her entree, and I got the Mahi Mahi topped with mango salsa…. Delicious!!! Not too heavy or laden with butter. Oh, and for those of you wondering about the $$… It’s not expensive at all! Pretty reasonable, actually. 🙂 We’ll be back for more special occasions.
My wife and I have dined in a littany of fancy restaurants from Grand Rapids to Las Vegas, Chicago to Charleston. We have fairly high expectations when we go out to spend $200+ on dinner, and usually are quite impressed. Leo’s was no different, except we didn’t need to spend a lot of money. I think we left with $150 bill (probably because only I could have one cocktail with my wife being pregnant). The food was ok and service the same. My wedge salad was superb and probably the most memorable. I think I chose an entree as a dare to myself rather than what I would normally get (Mahi Mahi). My wife enjoyed her meal (Lobster Ravioli) and soup (Bisque). All in all, it was a good evening, nice atmosphere, and I think at some point we will go back. To anyone trying to choose between Charley’s and Leo’s….go with LEO’S.
