  Well the negative reviews are two years old but I had a very nice breakfast and coffee here this morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave me their wifi password when they saw me trying to connect. This place suffers a locational disadvantage as it is tucked behind a larger coffee shop on the corner but I’m glad I walked past that one.

  The Worst Customer Experience`. I went in there on the way to meet some friends to grab an iced coffee. There was a woman working there with her young children. I received the iced coffee, took a sip, and noticed that it tasted like it was 3 days old. Without trying to create a scene, I asked the woman if I could trade it for a regular coffee of equal value because the iced coffee did not taste too fresh. She outright yelled at me and said that she just made it and i couldn’t exchange it for anything else. I tried explaining to her that I didnt want my money back, just another coffee. She continued to yell and told me to leave. The worst customer experience I have ever had in my life. I tell everyone I know not to go there.

  Out of towner receives poor customer service… Myself and three friends from Jackson (all in our 60’s) were in Grand Rapids for the Artprise. We stopped by Local Mocha for ice cream. The man who waited on us had an attitude from the beginning I just didn’t understand. He was abrupt and acted like he was too busy to wait on us. Although there was only one other couple there. I bought a double waffle cone. Sat down to eat it and first bite it falls to the floor. The inside on the cone was dry and only the rim of the cone showed signs of ice cream. So I asked if he could help me by giving me another cone because the ice cream was not pushed down into the cone. (An accident waiting to happen). He told me no. Said it was my fault the ice cream fell. I told him I never even got a bite. He told me to wait while he finished the order of the other couple. I complied. I waited until I saw him washing dishes and clearly forgetting about me. I asked again and he said it wasn’t his policy to replace ice cream if it falls on the floor. That was just not good customer service I told him. It certainly wasn’t my fault. If you want customers to return the least he could do would be to replace the ice cream cone or return the $4.80 I paid for the cone. So I sat while my friends ate their ice cream. He leaned over the counter and said I guess I could give you a single scoop. By that time I was ready to get out of there. The couple who came in at the same time we did said to me I should have taken the one scoop and tossed it in the garbage! We left there, walked down the street and found Sweet Yo’s on Monroe. My friends convinced me to stop in and buy some frozen yogurt. I’m sooo glad I did. One of my friends went in with me and we were telling them what happened at Local Mocha. They could not believe the man would not replace the cone. They said that was certainly poor customer service. They gave us each a $1.00 off coupon and even gave me a $1.00 off my frozen yogurt. NOW THAT’S CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Local Mocha should take lessons from Sweet Yo’s. Besides, they made me feel welcome and treated me with friendly service.

  Simple wholesome breakfast that was made fresh. Like the staff and the laid back attitude.
