Can I give a negative rating? We don’t even have our food and I can tell you we don’t like maru. Service is poor, slow and it it pretty much seems like they are treating us like crap cause we don’t look like their normal customers. No matter how good the food it we will probably not be coming back and this waitress isn’t getting a tip from me.I know it’s been a while but this experience was so bad I still remember it. Food was mediocre and the server wouldn’t even come back to the table to give us the bill. Still haven’t been back.9-6-2016 updateStill have never gone back.
Take out. My wife got a promotion and I wanted to surprise her with some really good sushi, and I had heard that Maru is on one of the top sushi places in GR. I heard correctly. I got the Crouching Tiger and the Honeymoon for us to try. It took almost as hour to prepare because they were so busy on a Friday night, but they told me that when I ordered. It was delicious – the best sushi we’ve had. Soon I’ll take her there to dine in. Nicely done Maru. Nicely done.
Pretentious, slow, overpriced, limited selection. Better of at Sushi Kuni or if you don’t need a drink, Sushi Yama. But a great place if you’re a tragic hipster with a poor sense of value.
Love it! new favorite gr restaurant. We went here for the first time on Monday with our three kids who loved the food. We really enjoyed sitting in the outdoor area. The food and service was excellent.
New fish in town…. We waited too long before we tried Maru Sushi and now I know what we were missing. This is our new favorite overall restaurant in town. Friendly staff and we even got a free appetizer because it was our first visit. Tempura Veggies was an excellent start. My wife and I each picked two rolls. What a feast for the eyes and stomach! Soy Joy and Sexy Bacon hands down were our favorites. It will be hard to choose something other than either one of those two rolls next time we visit. Read the reviews, look at the menu, then indulge in the photos posted before making your way to Maru Sushi.
