Had a Bacon Cheeseburger and the cheese is cooked into the burger. Black Angus Burger was thick and fresh tomato and bacon were delicious. Best burger that I have had in Michigan. I will go back to Stella’s when I return to Grand Rapids. MI.
Overall a pretty cool place with pretty good food (WAY too many Vegan items, though, which is valuable menu real estate that could’ve been used for real people food), kitschy fun atmosphere (like an Industrial Tiki Nightmare Arcade), and an outstanding selection of WHISKEY!!! Stella’s is to Whiskey, what HopCat is to beer (they ARE owned by the same group, so that makes sense). They do get pretty damned busy, so that can be annoying, but to be expected. Prices are reasonable and for comparison when Pappy Van Winkle was a just a wee bit easier to find you could get a glass at Stella’s for $24, but at Bar Divani (just around the corner) you would pay a whopping $40 for the same glass. Talk about a bargain! Also, be forewarned during the winter months that if you sit up near the door you will be perpetually blasted by freezing air every time the door opens.
