I travel a lot for business, and in every town, always track down tacos al pastor. I would say this place ranks in the top two out of over 50 places I’ve tried. Very good, authentic, and very friendly staff. Highly recommend !!!

Wow. I’m so glad I finally stopped here. Delicious and fresh food…I can’t wait to go back to try more of what they offer! I had a barbacoa gordita, asada taco and al pastor taco…all were extremely good. My favorite was the barbacoa gordita, meat was so tender and watched the cook make the tortilla. Doesn’t get fresher than that! My friend ordered a torta and it looked really good, I think I’ll try one next time. The place is small and maybe not the best part of GR but don’t let that stop you from trying this place. You won’t regret it. We got ours to go and they carefully boxed/wrapped everything with some wonderful red and green hot sauces. Both very fresh and flavorful. I will absolutely be back…soon.

This is the real deal. From appearances It is not the place I would normally stop at. But after reading all the great reviews I had to try it. Honestly it is a hole in a wall. If my husband had been with me he would of stepped one foot in the place and immediately turned around, his first thought being is it clean enough? will I get food poisoning? I’m so glad he wasn’t with me! Upon closer inspection when peeking in the kitchen through the order window you see that it is clean, organized and smelling great. Most of the workers speak Spanish but a very nice gentleman came to the window to help me with my order (maybe the manager or owner). When I got home with my to go order and opened the box with my lovely tacos and I mean lovely, there was a beautifully charred jalapeno sitting next to the three most perfect, freshest, most flavorful tacos my mouth has ever tasted! I can’t wait to go back and bring home some of this goodness for my husband! This place is a jewel people! The real deal! I am so happy I can’t wait to try the tortas and gorditas next. They make them by hand and the owner said they were a favorite….they looked divine!

Wednesday, October 2, I stopped in for lunch and ordered al pastor, asada, and chorizo tacos. Despite having been in back of a line of eight people, and expecting a little wait, my food arrived in about ten minutes. The tacos were served in paired corn tortilla that had been warmed in oil on the flat top, topped with cilantro and onion, and came with a grilled jalapeo on the side. To them I added lime juice. I used no additional sauce, though I had a trio of them handy. They weren’t needed. Plenty of flavor was already cooked in. The chorizo was picante and had a touch of crispy gotten by a good browning. The al pastor was well marinaded in a savory sauce. The asada was nicely seasoned and tender. Like the previous reviewer I’m not sure if this is the best Mexican food in Grand Rapids, there is always a bigger fish, but I judge a taqueria by it’s tacos, and these are damn good. What else is there to say? Oh yeah, I returned later for dinner…and will go back again.
