Zs a lively place…at times. When in GRs like to stop here as it is a short walk via Skywalk from my hotel. Service at the bar great, Matt always helpful w/ explaining the different brews they have on tap. St Louis ribs good, tried traditional flavoring. Also like the Zings.
This was my first time in Grand Rapids and I enjoyed Z’s. The location is great. The only concern I had is that it took over 10 minutes for someone to recognize me once I sat down and they brought my dinner right after my salad. My server was very nice though. The Mac and cheese with steak tips was delicious. They have a nice bar with many local brews on tap (which means that I need to get back soon to try more). I will give this place another shot when I am back in town.

Not bad at all. The food and beverages aren’t really what stand out at Z’s. Both are okay, but not great. The service is pretty good though and the location is fantastic – you’re close enough to people watch the crowds at Rosa Parks Circle, but just far enough away that you can still carry on a conversation without shouting. So, chill on the patio, order a pitcher and the spinach artichoke dip and enjoy just being there.
Tucked into the corner of an unassuming building downtown Grand Rapids, Z’s is famous for ribs. Really? Yes!
A haven for downtown service industry folk. If you’d like to chat up your waitress or waiter from Fridays or GP there’s a good chance you’ll find them here. Great happy hours from 2-7.
