2 thumbs down. 3 couples went there to celebrate 3 of our birthdays. The show was great, but the waitress was rude and very unaccomodating. The food is good, but over priced (3 scallops for $30). They charge your credit card for the cover charge when you make the reservation and misquoted the amount. I’m still waiting for a call from the manager to resolve this. When you add the cover charge to the meal, this is a very expensive evening.
Saw Kimmie Horne…excellent show and atmosphere, great food, but pricey!! I had the tomato soup, salmon with brussel sprouts and potatoes, and the opera chocolate dessert. All delicious. Great waitstaff!! Enjoyed the free valet service as well. Everyone very courteous!
16th Weedding Anniversary. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves and would recommend to all our friends. The service and the entertainment was great. Our reservations were at 6:00 and we were greeted and seated promptly. The Ralph Armstrong Quartet started playing at 7:00 and was outstanding. The food was really good, be sure to try the chocolate souffle. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
Claudia. Unfortunately, I agree with SERVICE=Terrible. I so wanted this to be a place I would want to come back to, but I doubt I ever will. The food and entertainment (what there was of it) were both very good, but my husband and I were so very umimpressed with the staff. Every one we came in contact with was stone-faced and made no effort to smile or make us feel welcome. The only person that seemed to remotely care that we were there was the warm-up piano player, Joe. Thanks Joe – without you this would have been an even worse evening. We paid $40 each (on top of the rather pricey food/drink prices) to see the headliner. We were told we should arrive at the restaurant by 5:30 pm in order to get a good table. We arrived at 5:15 and there were only 3 other people in the place for a long time. At 7 pm the entertainment finally appeared! They played for a grand total of 40 minutes, said there would be a short intermission and that they would be back . Thinking this could not possibly be the end of the first show and that they were coming back in 10 minutes, we waited ……..and waited …..for the musicians to return for what we thought would be the second half of the first show. Finally our waiter, who made himself very scarce the entire evening, (just like the other reviewer we observed another female waitress who made many more visits to the table next to us who was much more pleasant) informed us we needed to leave because they needed our table for the next show! We felt very cheated. We must have had the same waiter as SERVICE = terrible. It took him a long time to approach our table (and remember there were only 3 other people in the place). I actually thought he was one of the kitchen staff as he appeared quickly from the kitchen area, stood at our side like he was in a hurry to get back to the kitchen – no smile, no welome greeting, no information about the discounted drinks on their so-called Happy Hour. We ordered two glasses of wine – only to be told at the end of the evening that wine doesn’t count on the Happy Hour. Had we known what was included we might have changed our order. I could go on but my recommendations if you go would be to: be prepared to not be made to feel welcome there; be prepared for good food but very small portions and high prices; ask what’s included on the Happy Hour first; and don’t expect to hear much music – if you do, I guess it will be a bonus.
I had an absoloutely fantastic time at dirty dog jazz cafe. Valet was polite and prompt, my reservation was recognized and was seated by a polite host. The service staff was polite and professional and then there was the food. Wonderfuly prepared and presented. My favorite part of the meal that blew me away was the side of asparagus. No special sauce, no fancy presentation, it was just cooked and seasoned PERFECTLY and treated so honestly. Throughout the meal the professionals on staff we’re attentive and the server helped with suggestions of wine and favorites all eavening. Highlighting the night was a wonderful jazz band that completed the feel. The only complaint I could make is that when the valet returned my vehicle there was a smell of smoke inside. A few minutes with the windows open resoved the issue, no problem. Thank you again for the wonderful night, many compliments!
I love it.. A great bar. The restaurant offers an interest selection of small plates and entrees. We have tried a wide variety and each was excellent. Our service has always been first class. And the real treat: excellent music, especially during the week when the ensembles are not national names but have talent and enthusiasm
What are they thinking?. Over priced….if your in for show times and being asked to leave then this is your place. Won’t last (and should’nt)
