Christmas Eve. Unfortunately the Hill was busy on Christmas eve when I took my family there for dinner. The wait was at least an hour and half to two hours. The only good food was the Lobster Bisque. Ordered swordfish, after the hour and half wait, it was not cooked. Had to return it. Some lady came to our table and offered us desert instead but said it would probably take another hour and half. Lacked rudimentary people skills. Will not go back.

I so wanted everything to be great for our group of 8 celebrating a 60th birthday but unfortunately there were some misses. Slow service was a bit disappointing but it improved albeit only slightly. We Ordered the calamari appetizer which was nicely breaded but chewy and over cooked. The description of the Roasted then chilled Thai chili shrimp app made your mouth water but delivered little on the flavor. The tenderloin app was tasty but overall the portion sizes, tastes and prices didn’t seem to WOW anyone about any of the appetizers. Looking forward to the Sherried Lobster Bisque, that too was disappointing. Every lobster bisque I’ve ever had was creamy & pale in color. This one was pasty, thick, way too salty, and a burnt orange in color ( which might be due to the sherry but that doesn’t account for the texture). The presentation was beautiful, which included a unique bowl and a lobster-shaped puff pastry, but taste should trump looks every time. The entrees all had beautiful presentations but again none of us were overly impressed with the flavor. The GRANDE Surf & Turf was not what we expected. The filet was NOT 7 oz as told and the lobster tails were overcooked and dry. And who doesn’t serve lemon for the drawn butter? The Hill of Perch was well received and it seems that the various side dishes on all entrees were very good. Garlic mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, sauted mushrooms, house salad, were very tasty. On the positive side, they pour hearty cocktails and the bread is AWESOME!Bottom line… Overpriced for the quality and quantity.
Impressed. Right in the middle of one of favorite neighborhoods to visit. I cannot vouch for the menu as a whole, as I always get their filet with the vegetable du jour. The soups are good as well….
The service was terrible. We waited 1/2 hour before placing our order, and the entree didn’t come for another hour. The food was below standard for fine dining. Scallops were gritty, and neither one of us had a course that really stood out. We won’t go back.
Uppity clientele and dodo food. Filthy carpets and you can smell the smoke from the bar.
Disapointed. Not what it used to be. Was one of our favorites, but we don’t go anymore. But a very popular grosse pointe establishment so you are sure to see friends.
