Always Delicious. Great service, food, and atmosphere. Clean and comfortable. I love the eggplant sub. The negative reviews don’t make sense because this place is consistently busy. No, it’s not a 5-star restaurant, but try to find one of those in Lansing.

Don’t listen to the complainers. They’re all from the sticks and wouldn’t know a good pizza or italian dish if it smacked them in the behind. Voted best pizza in Lansing area for over 30 years for a reason. I hope the haters stick with Dominoes, so the line won’t be so long anymore.

Nothing special.. Not particularly impressed by my meal at Deluca’s. Not bad though. Lansing is in desperate need of a good Italian restaurant, this is not it.

Getting worse as time goes by. First time I went to Deluca’s just over ten years ago, I thought the pizza was delicious and the pasta interesting. A few years later, the crust seemed doughy and the sauce a little bland, but still really good. Fast forward to a couple years ago and I had to do a double take: the quality of ingredients has gone down hill so much. I don’t know if it’s that they’re sourcing lower quality or that they’ve changed recipes, but the pizza can no longer be considered top 5 in Lansing. Is it bad? No, but it’s definitely on the lower end of good, and certainly not worth the price premium. The sauce is eh and the cheese no longer has that same chewy yet melty consistency. The place is still busy as heck since it’s a Lansing tradition, especially after MSU games, but I think people would be better off hitting Cugino’s in Grand Ledge or Piazzano’s on Grand River instead.

Canned sauce. This was awful! Awful service and awful Italian food. My mom picked me up from state for a special dinner and I wished I would have eaten in the cafeteria. The breadsticks (that is noted as a popular item) were dense, probable the same dense dough for the pizza, and 6 pieces is enough to feed 12 people. The sauce that was served with the breadsticks tasted like it came from a can. To my mom and my horror the sauce appeared again on her spaghetti and meatballs and my vegetable lasagna. Not to mention that the mushrooms were canned and the eggplant was going bad. The waitress got our order, brought our food, and then brought the check. I had no water or pop for more than half my meal and when I asked she didn’t bring me any. Sadly, the man who was in the booth behind us adored this place. He raved about how good the food was. When my mom wanted to start talking about the food I had to give her a look, and told her to wait in the car. From this meal we got a ball of dense bread and cheese in our gut.

Dated, flavorless, exspensive for the quality. The atmosphere is dated, and the food took forever. Roughly an hour after the skimpy starter was delivered and the place wasn’t all that busy at the time. We ordered calamari. The menu states 6 oz’s but it was fried till rock hard and I seriously doubt when the waitress sat the plate down that there was even two ounces. We each had roughly 5 pieces each that were from nickel to dime sized. The waitress charged for an extra item when I asked for some pizza sauce to go with the flavorless spinach deep dish pizza I ordered. She nuked the sauce.Husband ordered the sampler platter and while some of it was ok, it wasn’t great. Honestly the marinara is pretty sour without balance, lacked garlic which is absolutely necessary, and other spices. Pasta was mushy. The bread delivered with the salad tasted of yeast and was pretty much dough balls that had been baked. Someone either killed the yeast or didn’t allow to rise properly. The menu is large but has little in the way of variation. Dated old school cuisine, dated dcor, much in need of some new fresh ideas and perhaps retraining on the amount of spice used (too little, too few). All in all, not a good trip back to the eighties.
