What a mess. Jersey Giant is not a place to go if you are in a hurry! I understand lunch time is probably busier than usual but from the time I walked in the door until I left was 25 minutes. I waited for my turn and ordered my sub, then employee working asked the other 5 people in line what they wanted as well. By the time she cut the bread for all 6 subs she then had to ask everyone again what they wanted. She cut the meat for all subs in the reverse order that she took the order so by the time she got to my sub I got stuck with the smaller end pieces of meat and even though the pieces were smaller than what she put on the other subs she wouldn’t put any more meat on my sub to compensate for the smaller pieces. Once she put meat on all 6 subs someone else finished making the subs. I then had to wait for him to put veggies on all 6 subs and then wait for them to wrap all 6 subs before they would ring up my order. On top of all that the girl who started making the subs obviously had a cold and kept whipping her nose on the sleeve of her shirt. Needless to say I probably wont be going back to Jersey Giant anytime soon.
Fresh Bread??. My sandwich was prepared on a bun pulled from a plastic bag, not sure how you would consider that fresh? The meat and cheese were cut right before making the sandwich but the slicer wasn’t what I would call clean. Skip this place and make a sandwich at home. For the price/quality you could make days worth of sandwiches with items from the grocery store.
Really Good. These are really good Subs. Fresh, big and tasty. I was heartbroken when they closed the location on Grand River right near campus. It failed as two other restaurants before Sushi-Ya moved. I’m okay with that change though, because I LOVE Sushi-Ya.
Good food, spoon service. Jersey Giant subs are awesome. Massive bread houses deli-fresh meats, at great prices. Prices fluctuate a little with the market, so specific ingredients might push prices up or down a pinch at any given time (and in the current economy, it’s more up than down). The only minus I could throw out is that the staff tend to be a little trashy- I caught a couple making out in the backroom at one location- but the staff wear gloves handling the food, and they keep the work area clean. I can live with that.
BEST SUBS IN LANSING!. If you are looking for a non-typical sandwich shop and top-notch ingredients, you have found the place! Jersey Giant has fresh ingredients and unique sub combos. This place gives you the perfect alternative to Jimmy Johns and Subway.
Fresh bread and meat much better than subway. Original location by frandor is the best one.
