A small steakhouse right downtown in Lansing. Great quality steak for a meat lover. I’m glad that they were able to keep this place open and I hope it has a bright future. Downtown Lansing needs more places like this.
Disappointed patron. Went to The Knight Cap for my 70th birthday. The food was good, and the service was great. However, one of the tables with 3 people sitting at it were having a conversation that included every expletive I have ever known of. The F bomb was used many many times over a period of 30 minutes. It seemed that these people were regulars. My son went to the manager and asked for him to speak with these people. The manager did nothing. I have been to this restaurant many times, but not in the last 3 yrs. when I had been there previously it had always been busy, but this time there were several empty tables. If this type of behavior is tolerated, maybe that is the reason it was not busy. I will not return. When spending this kind of money on a meal I expect a pleasant atmosphere at the very least.

I have been wanting to eat at Knight Cap for years so I finally went and was severely disappointed. I love steak and my steak was so bland, no flavor what so ever so I boxed it up to go and doctored it up at home. For the money spent there would of rather ate Outback!
Good Stuff. My friend and I went for a nice meal at the Knight Cap, as I;ve heard of it for years, but never made it in. The bartender was fabulous, and knew several cool drinks to try. I had the crab legs which it’s hard to find a bad one 🙂 Romantic fell, dim lights, quaint and seemed like a regulars hang out. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
I think the ambiance is awesome! I loved it! The server I had was a nice tall black man with a smooth velvety voice. It sounds silly but his presence really added to the experience. My boyfriend and I had fillets and added lobster for him and crab legs for me. We also ordered appetizers but we we’re disappointed by them. We both loved our entrees! I am happy went tied it but I don’t think we will be back anytime soon because of the price for value.
Classy – Intimate – Quality. This is a good old fashioned quality eatery that has been around for a good reason. Small, I think there’s 17 tables, reservation are a good idea. Top of the line professional servers. EXECELLENT food. The steaks are their standout but the entire fare is first rate. Prices are expectedly a little higher but the quality and ambience make it a good value.
