Quick Lunch Spot. I work near hear and stop in once every couple weeks for a quick lunch. They do .99 cent beef tacos every Monday. You can get 3 tacos, chips salsa and a water and be out of there for 5.00 with tip.I agree with the other guy that the margaritas leave much to be desired. If I’m drinking alcohol I like to taste it.I would have to disagree that this is of the most authentic restaurants as al dacos is right next store and puts on a killer killer down home mexican buffet.
Meh.. Chips are alright but the salsa is pretty flavorless. Biggest sin is the margarita – cloyingly sweet, obviously from a premade mix and with little tequila. If you’re not going to use fresh limes then don’t even bother calling it a margarita, this just tasted like candy. Also, I said flour tortillas when you asked me and yet you still brought me corn instead. For my fajitas. Fail.
Good food, but really loud music at lunch.
Que?. The food is as authentic as you can get in this neck of the woods. Half the time I have trouble communicating with my waiter, and when sports is on television it tends to be soccer. You cannot go wrong with this. Well, unless your waiter really didn’t understand your order, but that’s rare. The margaritas are delicious and pitchers go down far too easy. The burritos, the chiles, the chips and salsa, it’s all tremendous. You know you have a good Mexican place when the pictures on the menu are just blobs of red sauce and cheese. There’s not a professionally-posed glamor shot of a menu item in sight Oh Tres, how I love thee. The only other Mexican spot that holds a candle to this, is Cancun. Cancun has better cheese and I love their beef, but I feel Tres is overall more solid.
Chips and salsa are awesome! The food is also very good. Service is very fast and the food is always hot. Prices are low! Definitely worth a stop!
A Favorite. I work nearby and this is a favorite place for a reasonably priced, quickly served, delicious lunch. You’ll be greeted and seated right away and brought a basket of tortilla chips with delicious salsa (and a bowl for each person so you aren’t sharing with a double dipper). The staff is friendly and efficient. The food is good and service speedy. The atmosphere is pleasant though it does get loud sometimes. We’ve gone after work too for drinks and supper. Great place!
