I’m glad to see Soup Spoon doing so well and expanding! They are really helping to transform the Michigan avenue corridor to the city. I’m most frequently there for lunch but dinner with an adult beverage is great too.

Lovely service and atmosphere, be sure to make a reservation as they can get busy. Had the seafood risotto, it was a tad too salty for me, but the soups are excellent and so is the naan pizza (toppings vary depending on the day). Also, the bread pudding was delicious, must try for dessert.

Tried Soup Spoon for my birthday breakfast on a Saturday. I was surprised by the size of the restaurant and we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly and the service was great. I ordered The San Diego and the food was absolutely delicious. Hash browns were the best I’d ever had. Only knocked down 0.5 because one of my poached eggs was over-cooked, which is very unappealing. Order a mimosa!

Super great place to eat! My husband and I are visiting Lansing and randomly chose this restaurant from a list on Google. So worth it! The menu was impressively varied and unique (and apparently they have different menus for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner). The service was fantastic, and the servers and host were wonderfully friendly and helpful in letting us know what there was to do in the area. We dined on a Wednesday around 11:30 am, and it was a bit busy so I can understand how it might be difficult to get a table during high traffic times. However, we received our food in a timely manner and the food did not disappoint. We ordered the goat cheese points (goat cheese, tomato, and balsamic vinegar on small French bread slices) as an appetizer – delicious. My husband ordered the grilled walleye sandwich (a daily special), which was tasty and filling. I ordered the Smokin’ B sandwich at the recommendation of our server, and it was absolutely amazing. The brisket is smoked for 4 hours, then slow roasted for another four hours. In addition, the atmosphere of the establishment was cozy and happy. It seems like the owner really enjoyed creating a relaxed, fun restaurant with good food and friendly service. Such a great place!

Good service, not so good food. I was pretty excited to try this place since it had been recommended to me several times. Our waitress was awesome and the staff in general was friendly. However, it took forever to get out food, and it wasn’t very good. My wrap was mostly filled with lettuce, hardly any sauce and about 2 pieces of chicken. My sister’s sandwich was also mediocre at best. Definitely not worth the price.

Pretty Good. This place is pretty good, lots on the menu looks good. Service is nice and friendly… the only problem is their popularity, it can be hard to get a table, not much you can do about that though.Tonight my wife had the ribeye, everything on the plate was good. She ordered it medium, a few portions were medium rare, it was all really good, so this is just a little nitpick. I of course sampled her food, as a husband is oft to do.I ordered the surf and turf, which was interesting in that it was braised shortrib with a blue crab potato pancake, not the typical steak & lobster. The shortrib was outstanding, I would have eaten a lot more of it. Really really good, it was all smothered in a spicy feta sauce, excellent. It came with feta bacon mashed potatoes, very good flavor, but a little dry. I think they could add some milk or cream or something. The potato pancake was good – but I tasted 0 crab in it, which is unfortunate because I really like blue crab, I just couldn’t taste it (nor could I see any in it). So that was disappointing. It all still tasted really good, I just think it needed more crab if you’re going to call it a blue crab potato latke. I had the french onion soup, you can tell it had wine in the broth, which is nice, but ultimately it isn’t the best I’ve had. I tend to get it anywhere, Gilbert and Blakes probably still has the best in Lansing. My wife had a cheese & bean soup, it was good… if it was thicker it would have made a great queso/dip.
