Good food, Modern Atmosphere. Troppo offered decent prices and large portions. The food tasted excellent, and the atmosphere, (music included), was a nice constantly swaying blend of modern elegance and down to earth early 20th century. Service wasn’t bad, but to say it was exceeding average service, (Applebee’s), would be a lie.Overall, a great place for special occasions.
Great atmosphere, nice wine selection….. Server, Katie wasn’t so great. She was very new so I give her a pass. Did not know much about the menu. I ordered the lamb shank…sent it back as it was very bland almost tasteless And got the peasants pasta instead. It was ok. Nothing special. Received the bill and was charged for the lamb shank, which was a surprise to me as I took two bites of it. I asked katie if it was supposed to still be on the bill and she said yes. Very strange, if u send a dish back to the kitchen usually they don’t charge you. All in all I’m saddend by how under whelmed I was with Troppo. I am looking for a restaurant to have our 40 person work party at and needless to say this will not be my choice.
Great Food. I recently visited Lansing for a Billiards Tournament. After winning some prize money, we wanted to have a night out on the town to celebrate. We happened upon Troppo, and decided to try it out. The service was spectacular, and the food was even better. Our server was more than helpful. She recommended the steak, which i ordered, and was taken back by the presentation and the flavors that i had received on my plate. Topped with a great wine list, it made for a great night. I will be visiting Troppo again in the future.

Still hungry. There are many other restaurants that are not afraid to charge lots of money for a meal, but this place is ridicules. The salad was the smallest I have ever seen, like 1/2 cup of lettis, 3 crotons and 2 cherry tomatoes and so little of the house salad dressing, 4 of the 5 at our table thought there was none on the salad.I had the shrimp and scallops, 2 shrimp and 3 scallops. With 2 drinks, and the mandatory 20 % gratuity they tacked on out bill, cost me 83.50 for wife and I. What a rip off. Unbelievable waist of hard earned money. the food, what little there was , was very taste.I would not go there again and you should not waist your money there in the first place.
Great Food ~ Incredible Service. Crab cakes, salmon and salads are all very good…service is impeccable!!! I’ll be stopping in very time I’m in the Lansing area:)
