The Firewood Grill is a new family owned restaurant in Howell Mi. The service was beyond great. Our server was a beautiful young lady named Madison who was extremely personable and a very effective waitress. She made our evening better. The food was fantastic. I had the lamb tips which were cooked to perfection. It was very tender and flavorful. My wife had the seafood pasta which was also perfect. It is easy to tell that everything is made in house and fresh. We were paid a friendly visit by Chef Toma. It is very nice to see the owner and chef come out and talk with customers. The manager (Monica) also came by and was very charming. They have a wide variety of craft beers and specialty drinks. They offer a happy hour from 3-6pm with specials not just on cheap beer but $3 craft beer and specialty drinks and even half off wine. Appetizers are also 1/2 off. We finished with the carrot cake and cheese cake which was obviously homemade. They were both some of the best we have had. This building is the old Mr. D’s but you would never know it. The complete change of the interior design is unbelievable. It is a classy, warm and friendly atmosphere. There is also ample parking. So I must rate this upscale restaurant quite high with its amazing service, food and atmosphere. This is a must try for everyone. I can honestly say there is nothing like it in Howell.
