My first experience with Thai Food. Given that I am a Vegetarian and the amount of hygienity and taste they maintain, I cant give it less than 4. Half point extra for the speed of delivery and cost. Half point cut for less dine in space. It is more of a take away restaurant.
All time favorite in Marquette. It’s not your typical Thai, which throws people off who want their curry soup… It’s also not Chinese which throws people off who expect it when they order the delicious orange chicken.. This is Aoy’s kitchen – and what she cooks up is amazing time and time again. Spicy plum chicken with extra wow please!
Delicious food for a great price! Usually made pretty quick! If not, order and Marquette has great areas like Presque Isle you could just go take a spin around, maybe go for a little walk & go grab your meal! The workers & owner are always SO nice and polite!
It’s the people more than the food.. I’m going to be super honest, here. The food here is OK. Not even close to being the best Thai in the world, or even in the area, BUT… eat here anyway. Why? Well, the food is decent (and totally made from scratch!), but it’s the PEOPLE that deserve a visit. Aoy is super friendly and her entire staff seriously care about quality and care about your experience. While you are here you can read the coffee table book that details how Aoy takes the donations that customers leave and returns to Thailand once a year to provide children with shoes and school supplies. That’s pretty impressive in my book. The people of Rice Paddy are just straight up GOOD people. Give ’em your business because the food IS pretty good AND you’re supporting people that deserve it!
So-so Thai food. Khao pad gai and lam nuea salad were six on a scale of one to 10 with 10 being tops. Khao pad lacked complex flavors that good khao pad has. Was disappointed even though Aho has quite a following.
This was honestly the best hole in the wall restaurant I have ever found. I go out of my way to find places half as good as this. We came in 15 minutes after they closed and they still allowed us to order. I would recommend the food to anyone craving authentic, home cooked Thai. I can’t wait to eat here again.
Best of the best. Best pad Thai…period! The hot and sour soup could cure cancer or the common cold; whatever ails you! Wontons could bring peace to the Middle East. Red curry chicken is also incredible! Order it Thai hot! Aoy is incredible! Prices are ridiculously cheap!
