I’ve gotten take from here at least 5 times now and they have great food but they don’t seem to get it right when it’s busy 🙁 definitely need to look in the take out bag before you leave the building!

Like many of the restaurants along the waterfront, Sol Azteca is in a beautiful historic building (it’s upstairs from L’Attitude), but the food is pretty bland, and the service seemed distracted.

I have enjoyed every dish I’ve tried so far and would order them again!. The fajita burrito with chicken is my favorite so far, followed by the California Burrito and the El Dorado Burrito. I always appreciate the side platter of rice, beans (I love the flavor and consistency of SA’s refried beans), lettuce and sour cream (which they are always generous with), and sometimes with a very yummy pico de gallo, depending on the dish you get, I think. While the Sol Azteca carne asada burrito was very good, I think I prefer the flavor of Border Grill’s version. My husband tried the El Dorado Nachos and thought it was just okay. He’s pretty used to a certain kind of nachos but wanted to try something different. It came with 2 toquitos; I had a bite of the chicken one and the ground beef one — I preferred the ground beef. Next time, he had the Philly Cheese Steak Burrito. We both thought it delicious, but hubby got overwhelmed with the white cheese sauce 2/3 thru (he took the remainder home). I’ve had to take 1/2 of my burritos home each time because they’ve been huge. I’ve enjoyed the leftovers just as much at home! Prices are very good for all you get. Since Tiago’s Grill (San Antonio) is my holy grail for table salsa, the chips and salsa by Sol Azteca are disappointing. The chips do not have a nice flavor to me; they are not oily or burnt-looking, but leave an odd almost-burnt aftertaste on my tongue, which is not removed much by the salsa. The salsa is just okay; not too hot, not too much cilantro. I’d probably enjoy it more with different chips … The plus side is I don’t fill up on chips while waiting for the main meal. Wait staff have always been excellent, making sure the food is to our liking or if we need anything. My favorite spot in the place is next to a window (get the corner tables, if you can!) — beautiful views of the lake and the townsfolk appreciating the lovely park nearby. The so-far deficit liquor license (as of 9/2014) doesn’t matter to me as I’m usually drinking water.Everyone’s taste buds are different — some people like VERY spicy or hot; some people think cilantro tastes like soap. I am NOT a fan of Taco Bell! Personally, I am so happy to have a place nearby that satisfies my craving for authentic Mexican flavors. It makes me happy to dine there — over and over again.

Great Mexican food in the U.P.. Great place to visit. A good menu with entrees and combination platters. The food was delicious and the portions big! The chips and salsa were really yummy, but the guacamole is a must order! It is fresh and creamy! There is a beautiful view of Marquette harbor. Interior and exterior balcony seating is available.

AWESOME. This Mexican restaurant is great!!! I am picky and vegetarian- this is my most visited restaurant in Marquette. I never had any problems with the food or service. My meat eater friends feel the same way. I have tried all the vegitarian options but the vegitarian fajitas are to die for. I recomment this resturant to everyone that visits Marquette.

Delicious!. The service is quite good, the food feels and looks authentic, the atmosphere is amazing (with a beautiful view of lower harbor) and the vegetarian menu is wonderful! Don’t hesitate to go there, and ask for the delicious chips and salsa to take home!
