This place only offers dark meat chicken. Not my kind of place. Won’t be back here. I am surprised they have no white meat of chicken. What else can I say about this place.
It’s okay. The reason why I say it’s okay is my husband and I ordered California roll, crunchy shrimp roll, hosomaki, crab wonton and the beef teriyaki. This place ships in there sushi not made there due to the simple fact of taste, texture, packaging and smell. The hosomaki was just bad did not smell fresh. The two good things where the crunchy crab roll and the crab wonton and beef teriyaki even these where just okay and edible and in my husbands words was like eating japense fast food. I’ve had good sushi, I’ve traveled to get sushi this is what I call okay maybe edible and japense fast food. If you have a craving for japense food it may be fine but don’t expect it to be like good sushi japense restraunts where you sit down and get served and waited on and have a nice cup of soki. This is just an average fast food want to be sushi restraunt. My advice don’t order anything raw, I never do if it’s a first time sushi restraunt. Just order what is already prepared and cooked, make sure to smell it, if it smells good you are probably okay.
Coming from the west coast and growing up on sushi I can confidently say that this is not sushi. It is, however, the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. While the food was terrible the restaurant was clean and looked new. The staff were friendly and attentive. But those sushi rolls… Just awful. I’d be embarassed if I were the executive chef.
Poor Service, Always late. Today was now the third time I was told my order would be ready in ten minutes and then 30 min later when I go to the counter to complain magically my order appears. I have waited at the drive through window previously for 40 min before, at least that time I was offered a free sushi voucher for my next visit. It is ridiculous, Temaki and Tea you have lost me as a customer. Great sushi, but 3rd bad experience just ended our relationship.
The smoked salmon sushi is awesome, when they have it.
Surprisingly good…. I have to admit that I went to Temaki and Tea expecting to really despise it–I mean, a bunch of college kids cranking out sushi rolls and tempura? It’s got to be bad, right? Nope. Surprisingly, the three times I have been to this location have all been good. From the pasta bowls to, yes, the sushi right to the crab rangoons, those NMU kids are figuring out how to serve up some tasty dishes. This isn’t the same par of sushi as a place in Chicago or New York, by far, but for the Upper Peninsula it is as close as you’re probably going to get. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and I’ll definitely be back.
Good food… Sushi, noodle bowls, thai green curry etc.
