A small group of us came here because Seldan Standard was booked. So we walked across the street and were pleasantly surprised by the great food. This is definitely a good place to grab a bite to eat before a show at the Masonic Theater.
Honest John’s. Fter a chilly morning volunteering in the D, we were on a mission to get to the right spot where we could cozy up for some breakfast and a mimosa or two. We have frequented Honest Johns, but typically for a late night drink. They have now joined our list of go to breakfast spots… especially when we are in the mood to drink! We ordered a bunch and shared, enjoying everything. The chocolate chip pancakes were rich with their crisp buttery edges ($5.50), the smothered hash was just that… smothered potatoes with two toppings of our choice, cheese and nicely done eggs ($5.95) and the Breakfast Burrito was exploding with deliciousness ($5.95). The mimosa was just right with the perfect amount of OJ & Champagne to keep us around for a few. Honest Johns menu is full of great options from breakfast to lunch to dinner. They have a large vegetarian selection as well as a variety of late night stomach liners. There are not many places you can hear DMX and country within minutes and post up from 9am-2am working your way through a plethora of drinks & meals. Honest Johns is without a doubt that place. If we didnt have other obligations that day, Im convinced that cozy booth would have had our gluteus imprints in it. The casual atmosphere and friendly service makes this old spot charming as ever. We were happy to hear that the new owners, brothers Dave & John Kwiatkowski, plan to keep the feel the same.
Good, cheap, food, but. Poor service. But they are open late and have lots of vegetarian options.
Lunch in the middle of the night. Honest Johns is a great place for delicious sandwiches, creamy soups and fresh enormous salads. They have a great beer selection, I tried the ghetto blaster and really liked it. I had a greek salad and a club house. Both were huge and fresh and really good. They have an all day breakfast and a clam chowder you can stand your spoon up in. The decor is game room / saloon style.Nothing fancy here, just a good place to go for a meal with friends.
Best cheese fries I’ve ever had, and a great breakfast menu.
Fun Bar in Midtown. I love this bar, good food and fun. Really cool signs and massive grafetti in the restrooms,,,,bring you marker. albeerpoe.blogspot.com
