The food here was really good. The service sucked. Stood around waiting for someone to even say hi when we walked in. Waiter hardly ever came back to the table…other help on a 10 minute rant complaining loudly how they hated their job…while standing right next to our table! Just unprofessional.

Dirty dusty and slow slow slow service. 3 words.WAY OVER PRCED. don’t go…
Great Experience!. Had a wonderful dinner before Fisher Theatre Jan.4, 2014. The shuttle is a great service and got us there in plenty of time for the show. When we got out, the shuttle was there waiting for us. The steak dinner we had was delicious and all courses were served at just the right temperature and without us feeling hurried. They even stored the left-over portion of the generous meat cut in their refrigerator until we got back from the show. Mike, our waiter, kept good track of all his tables and we did not have to wait for anything as he anticipated our needs. Have been going there for 40 years and still consider it our favorite!
Upon walking in the door, we were harassed to give up our coats to check because they claimed they do not allow hanging your coats on the backs of your seats in the dining area. When right ahead of us the whole group of people had coats. When I brought it up, the hostess treated me as if I were just seeing things and I was delusional! Then when we were seated, the first thing I noticed were 10 people who had coats hanging on the backs of their chairs! Instead of causing a scene and being a total butthead, I thought I’d write a nasty review on how much of a bitch that young lady was about this issue. Next I’ll be getting in contact with her boss because if you’re going to have stupid rules about things, make sure everyone abides by it or don’t bother trying to enforce it at all on random people! Please train your staff to have common sense!!! I won’t be coming back mainly for how I was treated from the door! Not to mention the food is not all that!!! Save your time and money people, just don’t bother!!!
Mario’s shuttle. Don’t plan on the return shuttle frm Comerica Park.We were left stranded in torrential rain for at least a half hour at the pick up point 2 blks frm stadium, after a rain out. I called Mario’s 4 times and got the same answer, that the shuttle was on the way. We were totally drenched, even our shoes and underware thru our clothing. We walked back to the stadium and called a cab to get back to Mario’s and our car. We were told that the shuttle runs every 15 mins. Not True! Would not do this again.
Another great restaurant in Detroit bites the dust. I have been visiting Mario’s for the past 50 years last night was our last night there. Mario’s was always reserved for those special occasions. I’d rather get a good sandwich or a McDonalds. When Mario Lelli was alive we ran his restaurant with an iron fist . Everything had to be perfect. I guess times and owners change .Briefly, the white fish was over cooked and dry and my chicken piccata was also over cooked but the sauce was under cooked and the alcohol from the white wine and the lemon juice hadn’t had time to reduce and meld it was terrible. The pasta was overcooked but yet was a combination of luke warm and cold, the potatoes which were to be roasted were so fork tender that when putting your fork in they turned to mush.Such a disappointment for a restaurant from the beginning was always for special occasions. Again, never ever again! Save your money! There is no such thing as mediocrity when you are charged $23.00 for spaghetti and a meatball.
