We attempted to eat here last night. Before arriving, we called to check the wait. We were told 5 minutes. When we arrived the hostess was very rude and put out that we were there. She told us they were booked and no available seats would be available for the entire night. Many guests were exiting and the lobby/bar area was empty. We left annoyed. We called again to see what the wait was and we were told the same thing. We went to lobby again and attempted to be seated. Angry hostess came and refused us. A manager got involved and told us a 20 minute wait. At this point, we left. Clearly the hostess needs to find another job. Being friendly and doing her job (seating people) was a daunting task for her. We won’t be returning. We went down to the street to Hop Cat and we were treated very well by their staff.
Very good, tried sweet potato chips for appetizer very good. Roast beef dip sandwich was excellent. A lot of flavor and juicy beef. Mac & Cheese was flavorful. The hamburger was 1/2 pound, cooked just the way we ordered it. Good flavor and also juicy. The iced tea was excellent, some of the best I have had. The cinnamon and orange flavor set it apart from plain tea. The chicken salad and hash was also very good. The only downfall was it was 85 degrees outside and the doors open so it was a little warm inside.
It was a really nice day and the Traffic Jam & Snug looked appealing with its large outdoor patio. The place has pretty cool decor. Ive never been here before so we ordered a flight to check out the beers. They were alright., not like omg awesome but refreshing.. We didn’t plan on staying too long so we just ordered the spring rolls which took awhile to come out. They were satisfying for an in between snack, crispy golden brown no complaints. Then it was time to leave and the waiter informed us the credit card machine broke. Doh!, Talk about a nitemare for a place full of tables. Thankfully we always carry a little cash. kuderik.com
Yekik We’t Ethiopian Platter. Scrumptious and spicy!
Not worth 1 star. From entering to leaving I would give the staff a 1 star rating. We were ignored by the hostess even though they were not at all busy. The wait staff was just okay (not the worst, but not very attentive/efficient either). The worst part of the experience was the food, which of course was the real reason we were there. We were given a bread basket of honey wheat bread. It was the best part of the meal. The only potatoes offered are deep fried (some form of fries). In our party 2 people ordered the Delmonico Steak dinners, with rice in lieu of potatoes & blue cheese dressing on the side salad, 3 ordered the Cherry Pecan entree salad (1 with a grilled chicken breast), 1 ordered large Lentil Soup & Cheese Plate. The Delmonico Steak dinners were just awful! You will LOVE the blue cheese or ranch dressing if you love MAYONNAISE. Both the blue cheese & ranch dressing consisted of mayo with some blue cheese or some spice mixed in. I would not be exaggerating if I said they were the worst dressings I have ever tasted. The Delmonico Steak was probably half fat or grizzle (see picture below), cut probably 1/2 thick, the rice was okay, zucchini was mushy (over cooked). The sauce on the steak was too sweet and they put too much on it. The Entree Cherry Pecan salads were SLIGHTLY larger than a side salad. They were served with a lemon & spiced salad dressing, that was okay. The chicken breast on the salad was dry. The Lentil Soup was okay, seemed to also be cooked too long. The Cheese Platter consisted of colby, cheddar and asiago cheese with a couple of strawberries. We were told we were lucky because lately the only cheeses on the platter were colby and cheddar. Needless to say, after we spent $100 we then had to find another establishment to eat at because 5 out of 6 people were still hungry.
Really Great Restaurant!!!. I was at the Art Museum for the Samurai exhibit, and afterwards we decided to eat. I was with two students and a close friend, four of us altogether, and all in martial arts. Well we decided on the Traffic Jam, and although I had gone to Wayne State many years ago, I never was in this restaurant before, at least not that I can remember. I was so pleased with everything, the service, the food, the huge space of the place, the convenient free parking right across from the restaurant, that I decided to bring my sister and brother-in-law there too. But my sister said she read bad reviews on the restaurant, and when I looked I saw them too. I guess you can’t please everyone all the time but are only disgruntled people willing to write reviews? Only because of my experience both my sister and brother-in-law decided to go with me. Again everything was perfect. My brother-in-law had the fresh salmon (not farm-raised, but caught wild), and my sister had the chicken stew. I had the same thing I had the first time, a bean burrito. This time instead of no cheese I asked if Swiss cheese could be substituted for the cheddar cheese. No problem, it was done. This burrito was slightly different than my first one a few days ago, but was still very good. And still very huge! My friends were pleased, my brother-in-law was pleased, and I am very pleased. I didn’t see any of the complaints being true that I had read. So that’s why I’m writing this, and when I mentioned it to my sister she said to make sure I mentioned that she was very pleased with the restaurant as well. Next I’m going to bring my mother here,
