I had heard of Motor City Soul Food in Southfield but this is my first time going. Saturday afternoon, early dinner time, slight wait but not to be bad. Lines are generally a good sign. They offer the standard soulfood menu, fried chicken, baked chicken which actually looked really good , a couple of different types of fried fish, meat loaf hammocks, neckbones and a few other standard soulfood meat selections. For veggies they had greens, cabbage, string beans lima beans, blacked eyed peas, yams you get the picture So I chose for my first visit ribs, mac and cheese and yams. The ribs were slightly tough and a little saucy for me. The mac and cheese and yams were excellent. Just like grand mom and mom use to make. Service was cafeteria style and their system seemed to work. They get you in and get you out. It is all take out. All and all I would recommend and I will be going back to sample more soulful entrees. Good Choice!!
