Joke. The several times I have been to Dusty’s have been a joke and a waste of my money. The one bright side to my meal was that my steak has always been cooked to the exact temperature I ordered. The menu is disapointing. For such high prices, the food is grossly underseasoned and seems to follow a predictable theme: meat, potato, vegetable, sauce. By the way, the sauces seem to bounce between more than one dish, and also seem to rotate amonst menues… I experience a lot of dejavu everytime I eat at Dusty’s. Furthermore, the decor seems pleasant until one actually looks at the details; the place seems filthy (dust, crumbs,stained carpet). To conclude, the service has seemed to decline over the past few years. The last time my wife and I dined at Dusty’s, our server was not only exceptionally slow, but perspired profusely, coughed (though looking away) while holding our meals, and carried a strong scent of cigarettes. Don’t get me wrong, I like Dusty’s. However, it’s not worth even half the price.
Love dusty’s. This is our go-to restaurant for a special night out. I have eaten at both the wine bar (more upscale) and the tap room (casual favorites) and both are amazing. The Michigan wine flight is top notch, esp with the cheese plate. Try the fondue for dessert!!
Wedding Night. My now wife and I are both military and are were expecting to be leaving for deployments in a few months. We decided to have an intimate civil ceremony and do the church and reception once we got back. Dusty’s Wine Bar had been the location for our first date and we decided to go their for our first meal as a married couple. I wanted to make the night special so when I made the reservations I asked what they offered. The GM talked about the options they offered to include bottle service at the table to having flowers waiting at the table (if you had flowered delivered to the restaurant they would set them up). Upon arrival we were quickly sat at our table and the GM came over to open our bottle of Champagne. Once he heard our story he announced to the restaurant that we had just got married and that we were both in the military and asked the patrons to join in a cheer for us. Throughout the night people came thanked us for our service and congratulated us on our marriage. The food from the appetizer to the main meal to the dessert was to die for. The price is a little higher than an Applebee’s but you definitely get what you pay for. The steaks literally melted in our mouths. The atmosphere, the large wine selection, excellent serviceand delicious entrees makes this a perfect place for an anniversary or special occasion.
While I agree with previous reviewers, the menu has not changed in years, I still enjoy my food when I go. A little change up seasonally, or even yearly would go a long way. That being said I still count Dusty’s as one if my favorite restaurants in the Lansing area. The Berber spice rack of lamb is always divine whenever I order it. My husband usually orders a beef dish of some sort, and always enjoys his dish. On our last visit (November) he changed it up with Duck risotto, which was delicious. All in all a nice place to go for a date night now and again.
They haven’t updated the menu much in over ten years. Great wine selection but the dining room and menu needs a revamp.
Wonderful.. My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate an anniversary. The food and atmosphere were absolutely wonderful. You get what you pay for, both in quality and quantity. I highly recommend Dusty’s.
