My wife and I love this restaurant. The staff is great, the food is great and the wine selection is well curated. We are big fans and we go here as much as possible.
Recommended by Chefs. I made friends with a chef in another town and he recommended Dusty’s, which I had been meaning to come to for a while but never felt like throwing down the cash. I’m glad I finally stopped by.Cocktails were deceptively loaded with alcohol, they went down smooth and tasted light but my wife and I both had a good buzz by the time the food arrived- that’s some excellent bartending. The appetizer was a simple plate of tomatoes and cheese and balsamic- deliciously simple. For dinner I had salmon and she had pasta, both excellent. I threw in a flight of tastings of Islay scotch- overall the flight is a bargain for the servings you get. It’s all excellent food, and unlike some places they’re not clubbing you over the head with grease and salt to fool people into eating themselves to death. Quality ingredients, prepared skillfully but without pretense, served with kindness.Yes it’s probably too expensive, but Lansing is not exactly a hub for quality ingredients outside of produce so I’m sure a lot goes in to acquiring the food. If we were closer to the Lakes I’d make a more serious complaint, but Dusty’s is about the best you can ask for in the area.
