I’ve been coming to Ukai for the past 18 years for my birthday. (woah, I’m old) It was the first hibachi style restaurant that I had ever been too and I loved the entertainment. 18 years later, I’m still entertained.
Go for the grill, not the sushi. Well, Ukai is definitely a hibachi place. I think they’re owned by the same people that do AI Fusion. Most of the sushi is the same, most of the drinks are the same and the menus have a startling similarity. I found that the quality of sushi at Ukai wasn’t as great as sushi at AI and other sushi restaurants, but the appeal of Ukai is the hibachi. I didn’t go for it when I went, but perhaps on future visits I will.
Awful. This place should be closed, the only thing good about the place is was the chef. My family was treated like second rate citizens and the customer service was awful!! I couldn’t believe I was being treated this way on my child’s special day! Even the chef knew we were being treated poorly! I will never go to this place again and I will make sure that everyone knows about the awful service.
Really great sushi for an affordable price. Sat at the sushi bar and had a great time, will def be back!

Love love love Ukai. This is where my husband took me on our first date. We return every chance we get. Their hibachi and sushi are epic. We have always had great service and have never had to wait for our food. Ukai is a wonderful dining experience! We cannot wait to bring our daughter here when she is older and whenever we have friends from out of town visit, this is our restaurant of choice. Oh, I almost forgot to mention they have the best filet mignon in Lansing! HIGHLY recommended. Great service, great food, fun environment!
