The service here stunk. If you get the short brunette waitress wearing glasses, prepare to be ignored. It took absolutely FOREVER for her to take our order. 20 minutes passed between the time we were seated and out order was taken despite being seated right away. The pizzas were very tasty but Megan was far too attentive to other tables.
One of the best Neapolitan / brick oven pizzas I’ve had so far in the U.S. — next to Isabella’s in Baltimore, Tony’s in San Francisco, Matchbox in D.C., and Forno Rosso in Chicago. Our waitress told us that Cellar 849 is 1 of 75 certified Neapolitan establishments in the U.S. My wife and I had the Pompeii and it was and will continue to be memorable.
Wine less bar. A group of friend and I had the opportunity to eat at this rest and here was my experience. The pizza was excellent, however overprice menu, a very limited and non impressive wine selection. We waited for over 1 hr. Standing up on a tiny waiting area, while management decided to put out a reserved sign on areas of the bar. The waitress was clueless, brought couple of dirty glasses and took forever to bring couple of more menus to the table. At the end of our dinner we had to wait for at least 30 mints to get our change back. They stated I am sorry we forgot, Clearly, not the best choice to dine in. Better for a take out pizza and enjoy it with a great Tempranillo or Rioja at home.
Favorite place in DTP! Always fresh and friendly service. The setup is very intimate and although there may be a wait if you aren’t planning on sitting in the bar area, it’s well worth it!!
Out of pizza???. We planned to come up there for a friends birthday dinner. We loved the pizza there and have eaten there many times. We called ahead and were told that reservations were not necessary and that if we can in around 8pm it wouldn’t be a problem. When we arrived at 8:10pm we told the VERY young looking waitress that we had a party of 10 and wanted to eat dinner as well as drink. The place was empty at this time and CLEARLY she didn’t want to get stuck there late and we were informed that they ran out of pizza. Seriously. Ran out of pizza. So we took our party and our $500 bill to a place down the street and will never be back. The hours are inconsistent and if the staff wants to leave by 9 they should close at 8. It’s too bad, the food is good, but the service leaves something to be desired.
Delicious pizza. Veggie pizza’s crust was a little undone but taste was delicious! A nice step up from our regular pizza chains!
Best thin pizza around!. Great atmosphere! Great food!
