Don’t Be In a Hurry. The food here is great. As noted with some of the other reviews the service is something to be desired. The waitstaff has no discipline. They are too busy talking to each other to take our order or are talking to the regulars for 10 minutes or more. The food is good. I like their greek food and their vast salad menu. We go there when we don’t have someplace to be afterwards though.

Second review. My friend and I were back again today. The Eggplant Parmesan was even better than my first visit. on both occassions my friends dishes were superb. She ordered the Gyro the first time and a patty melt the second time! the service was greatly improved. It seemed like a whole new set of people were working at this visit.18 Dec, 2013Food Great Service Sucks. I lunched at The Saint Clair Shores Red Olive this week. We were one of 2 tables to start. It was 2Pm when we arrived. We sat directly across from the other table, where a female toddler captured all the attention of the waitstaff and other employees. She was adorable. The waitress spent so much time cooing over the toddler that she took 15 minutes to get the adults order. We then expected she would turn and take our order-hat was not to be the case. She promptly left and returned 10 minutes later with their soups. Then proceeded to wander back to the kitchen. She finally appearred to take our orders. Other diners arrived and to our surprise the staff of Red Olive was still fussing over the toddler -no one seemed to care about the new arrivals. A Hostess would serve a great purpose in ths establishment. The next tables sat longer than should have been expected while the cooing continued. One table loudly got up after 15 minutes and announced to the place that they would no longer wait-especially since a new party was serviced before them and they had been the first in of the new tables. I had to applaud them–the cooing and attention to the toddler was out of hand –business comes first then cooing. There would still have been plenty of time to enjoy the toddler. The food is exceptional. I f it is all you care about then please try Red Olive Saint Clair Shores.

One of our favorite restaurants!. My husband and I started going to Red Olive in St Clair Shores about 6 months ago. Every visit has been good, with great prices and good portions. We have been pleased with the quality of the food. Very attentive staff and no disappointments other than the chicken wings my husband ordered were really small portion for the price. We go to Red Olive at least once a week and are grateful for this new place in our neighborhood. We use to go to Olga’s but they drove up their prices and down sized their portions.

Waitress thumbs down. I went to the st clair shores location with some of my co-workers. It was not crowed probably due to the time of day, it was about 2:00 pm. The waitress was a dark headed brunette. I forget her name, but she was short with me, did not smile a lot, like. The food was good, we had soup and salad, fried zucchini and even the small slice of chocolate cake with whip cream was delicious. When I paid for my meal at the front door. I tried to make small talk with her whilst she rang up my bill she said absolutely not one word to me, and placed my change on the counter. I will NEVER return here and will not recommend it to any of my friends or family!

Probably wont be back. My bride and two step daughters and myself had dinner at the St Clair Shores location Friday ( oct 4 th ) evening. And I can say it was not a good experience…First off, our bread basket came with bread that had the center area ate out of it,so just the crust was there….. I asked the server if they were recycling the bread basket bread? Next my bride ordered the half chicken with mashed spuds and gravy, and gravy was dumps over everything and the gravy was not good tasting and made the chicken taste awful, next of the step daughters ordered the chipoltle wrap and that not good either..Now I will say the chicken soup was good, and my gyros plate was passable, but I have to question if the cook actually try’s any of his/her own food….Very disappointed, this was our first time and most likely last for this place……..
