Love this place!. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I first discovered it in 2013, and I have to say, this is one of the best Japanese/Korean cuisine restaurants in Washtenaw county! I’ve tried practically everything on the menu at least once; the sushi is always fresh and the food is consistently good. My favorite roll is the Eagle Roll, the Harmony Roll and the Las Vegas. The time preparation isn’t that long either, about 5-10 minutes (unless you go during lunch or dinner rush hours.) There aren’t many restaurants that house make their own sushi sauces, teriyaki sauces, or gochujangs (for the bibimbap), and it is really a big difference from store bought sauces. Yes, sometimes the food can get a little pricey (especially during dinner), but its well worth it for the quality, time, and craftmanship placed into every dish. Everyone is super nice! The sushi chefs are all very kind and wonderful to talk to when sitting at the sushi bar. I’ve never had a negative experience with the waitstaff either; some people mentioned that the service was slow or had servers that didn’t really know what they were doing, but it’s likely that these people came in during rush hour or had gotten a trainee server. I’ve gotten my order messed up once or twice before as well, but the servers are humble and more than willing to help you have an enjoyable dining experience. I’m glad I live close to Biwako!
I love this restaurant. Consistent quality and courteous staff. I order out from here two to three times a week.
Awesome Sushi. I really don’t understand why there are any negative reviews on this place. I have been coming here for years, more often now I carry out because of my toddlers, but they are amazing!! I’ve never had bad service, the quality of the food is awesome and everyone there is a pleasure! I’m a restaurant manager, so my expectations are naturally higher than the usual. I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve been to some of the fancy downtown Ann Arbor locations for Sushi and they don’t compare. Not to mention I always check health department ratings on all places I dine, and they have never had any severe violations unlike many of their competitors. Highly recommend!!
Awful. The wait staff was a comedy of errors. They mixed up our order, forgot to bring out the appetizer, and forgot to bring out the standard soup and salad. when the soup did come it was barely warm, certainly a health code violation. The main course took 47 minutes to arrive. The sushi tasted fishy, which good sushi should not be. Our water wasn’t refilled unless we asked. The bibimbap was lame. If you want good Bibimbap go to Arirang. We’ve been going here despite usually poor service because we live so close but tonight was the killer. We won’t be back. Until the owner is able to get good wait staff, this place is a waste of time and money.
:(. Disappointed.. The sushi isn’t the greatest. And the waitress was pathetic. Sorry to say. I don’t know how your place got so many likes.
Amaaaazing. Biwako sushi is the best sushi restaurant around, there’s no two ways around it. I just saw one review saying the service was bad, but I have been there many times, and never have I been able to complain about the service. I have been completely satisfied by their service- they’re friendly, attentive, and the owner of the place makes your sushi himself. They have the perfect balance of tradition, technique, and creativity. GO BIWAKO!
We like the food, but service? Service is horrible and I mean horrible, owner – do yourself a favor and hire another waiters otherwise you’ll be loosing a lot of customers which may lead to closing down your Saline place.
