Beer selection alone is not enough.Burger was OK. Fries were good. Chicken chili was really bad (puree the white bean making a baby food texture!). Some rude drunk guy making a scene and freaking us out.Probably won’t go back.
Great food!. Great Place,good service and like 17 all local beer on tap that change weekly. We go before 6 and pay 1/2 off all starters we get Calimari for 3.00 and if you go on mon burgers are 5.00. It is the most upscale place but you can still wear jeans..
Better than the SL Hotel!. My wife and I have known that the Tavern was there for a long time and just never gone to eat there. After some really awful service at the South Lyon Hotel (as in sitting for 20 minutes and never even getting water or service of any kind!) we walked down to the Tavern to check it out. Very good choice on our part!The service right from the start was excellent, my wife ordered a drink (one of their martinis) and loved it. We both had burgers and they were awesome. Cooked just how we ordered them, tasted great and just the right amount of food for a pleasing dinner (even the soup tasted homemade).I’d HIGHLY recommend the Tavern….we’ll be going back very soon.
My Favorite Place in Town. We live in South Lyon and this is our favorite place to go, especially for a pint. There are 14 different microbrews on tap. The tavern also hosts fun events like beer dinners (we have been to several) where they choose a brewery and the chef pairs food selections to go with beer selections, wine dinners, and bus trips to the Tigers games and St. Patty’s Day parade (which we haven’t done). The food is good. The owner is extremely gracious. This place to us is like Cheers, where the staff is friendly and comes to know you by name. The decor is very cool, with exposed brick. If you go on a Tuesday (I think its Tues, could be Weds), bottles of wine are half off! I recommend this place without hesitation to anyone, but especially to those who love a good beer.
Slightly upscale but still casual. Tends to attract a more upscale crowd then the typical South Lyon crowd. A couple of times when I went, the food was very good and prepated perfectly, but then returning the next time the same meal was not so good (steak over-cooked, very skimpy on the sauce), so maybe the quality of the chefs is not consistent, but they did re-make my food with a smile. Service good but again not consistently good, but again this is still South Lyon, we’re not dining snobs (although they try to kick it up a notch). I did have the turkey burger which has a kick to it and is very tasty. In general good quality ingredients and nice atmosphere.

Very good place. Atmosphere is comfortable and the food is delicious. Burgers and sandwiches are the best. Inquired about their coleslaw and the chef himself came out and had a small, friendly discussion with us! Great place, local beer on tap. We’ll be back often.
