Not Good,,, Won’t be Back YUK. OK the reviews are all great why I just don’t get it, the chimichunga’s the wife had were burnt to a crisp and no flavor in the ground meat inside. The owners have a 2 nd location called Los Alto’s a little over a mile away which we’re eaten at for years and is on my Favorites list. The place is dirty and both restrooms really filthy and nasty. The signs are old and faded also inside. Rice and beans flavorless. the red pozole was just pork chucks, broth and hominy again flavorless, and my all time favorite is at Los Alto’s. The chorizo and egg taco’s again no flavor, The best part was the Queso Flambo , chips were cold and stale. The owner really needs to perform a major make over to match the really nice sister Los Alto’s. The service was great and friendly. Save your money go else where this place sucks, albeerpoe.blogspot.com

Favorite of Mexican Town!. I have ventured to 3 restaurants in the area for Mexican and Lupitas is by far my favorite. Most authentic, not engulfed in cheese and sauces, and SUCH GOOD TACOS! You must try the tacos like they recommend. At least one. I did sample the taco made with one of the more strange ingredients, I can’t remember exactly the name, but it tasted not so pleasant. The restaurant is small and only accepts cash so be prepared. Also, if you are looking for a margarita or beer with those chips and salsa, wrong place…they do not serve alcoholic beverages. The restaurant itself could use some updating, but so could the rest of Detroit. From my personal experience, the best Mexican food I’ve been served has always been out of small, random, not the most up to date places, for example, a trailer home, turned into a business. =]Definitely go out to Lupitas….it’s a real treat. I loved having some real Mexican food once again!

Incredible food!!. Grade: B+Wow! After a near-nauseating experience at nearby Xochimilco, my wife and I ventured into Taqueria Lupita’s. It was the best decision we’d made all day!The interior is that of an old and tired family restaurant, but that’s not why you want to go there. Over fresh chips and a selection of several salsas, we decided to try several different kinds of tacos, and were glad we did. We’d asked which was the best variety and were told immediately–tacos al pastor. These were REAL tacos. They were incredible! Soft tortillas, the pork was beautifully seasoned with a wonderful depth of flavor that was accented perfectly by, diced onion, cilantro, and fresh lime wedges to squeeze over the creation. We want to go back, and will next time home. I want to try some of the other items on the menu. If they are anywhere near as delicious as the tacos al pastor, it’ll be worth the trip. I’m just afraid that I won’t be able to get past the tacos!

Awesome Mexican at unbelievable prices. Lupitas has some of the freshest fare at prices that are less than most fast food joints.
