Loved it. The food was very tasty (we had lasagna and manicotti). Homemade pasta was balanced and toothsome. Sauces had some complexity without being heavy. Salad was super fresh and the minestrone soup just right. All this at a great price. The neighborhood might appear a little dicey. But park right behind the building and go in that door. In some other part of some other town, there would be lines out the door.
What a delicious surprise!. I grew up just a mile or 2 from the Vernor /Springwells area and am embarrassed to admit that I had never heard of Vince’s until now. I moved from this neighborhood 30 years ago and rarely venture back. This past week was mine & my husband’s 25th wedding anniversary, so when our friend’s offered a celebratory dinner, we graciously accepted. They suggested Vince’s restaurant. I was skeptical as I’m well aware that the neighborhood has declined since my childhood days. First thing that I noticed was a clean, well lit & fenced parking lot. We were greeted, seated and served immediately. Our drinks, appetizers, salads and meals were served in a timely manner by a very polite and friendly waitress (I didn’t catch her name, but if the owner’s are reading this, she was the elderly lady, not either of the 2 young girls). All 4 of us ordered a veal dish. I ordered the parmigiana. Everyone enjoyed their meal, but I must say that in all my years of trying veal parmigiana at dozens of restaurants, this was by far, the absolute BEST I’ve ever had! So tender with just the right amount of cheese and sauce- the sauce which was perfect! What a wonderful dining experience we had tonight. I will definitely recommend your place to everyone. Bravo!
