After reading the reviews I thought we would try it. We went on a Sunday at 4:30. I thought it was all bad. I kept going back up to try something else to hopefully find something good. The staff and decor were nice. But I would rather have a good meal than nice decor!
A GREAT TREAT AFTER DEPLOYMENT. I missed this place so much while I was deployed to AF last year. I just came back and had a great time with my family and friends last week dining at this restaurant. Great food! The buffet is not huge compare to other buffet restaurant. But their food are amazing and so fresh. If you like sushi, they have sushi boat buffet devoted to varieties of sushi. The food is so high in quality. The price is very reasonable. I wish this restaurant can move to Fort Bragg. Love this place!
Mandarin Grand Rapids. I like variety and Mandarin has that covered.Food quality is average and above.Cleanliness, decor, and service – very good.Respect shown to elder customers – better than I have ever seen – anywhere.
Horrible. The food was horrible. I was able to eat a crab Rangoon and a piece of chicken when I just couldn’t touch it anymore. The food smelled like cows! After complaining they still wanted me to pay for a full buffet! When I didn’t eat anything really. The funny thing is they asked me not to come back why would I go back to a place that was disgusting. They did have nice decor.
A nice Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids. I was excited when I saw the big sign up on 28th street that a new Chinese restaurant was coming to Grand Rapids. The first time I went, the buffet was going on and I have to say the place exceeded my expectations. I thought it was going to haphazardly put together like some of the other Chinese buffets in town. But the place is very nicely decorated all around. And the buffet was very extensive, featuring all the staple Americanized Chinese dishes, rice, a few different soups, and a smaller Japanese and sushi area. I found a few semi-spicy dishes, but not as spicy as I wanted. The sushi was decent but I think the Chinese was the better of the two (it is named Mandarin after all). It was about $11 for the buffet and a drink. The second time I went, I went back to try an item off of their menu instead of the buffet, as I am not a huge fan of the buffet and generally measure a restaurant more on its dishes. My advice generally with Chinese restaurants is to try to stay away from the buffets and try their chef’s specialty dishes. I think you’ll have a better experience. I recommend trying this restaurant if you live in the area.
We loved it. My son and I ate lunch here the other day. It was GREAT we had the buffet and everything was fantastic. We ate for a tad less that 20.00 including a tip. I reccomend this place for sure. I will go back there again soon, sushi rocks here, VERY FRESH!
