Wonderful location.. What a perfectly lovely evening. Had drink at tiki bar on beach, then sat inside in the cozy booth area. Ran out of whitefish, which friends said was not great- ran out of prime rib!! which friends loved:(( Bisque had no seafood:(( the strip steak was wonderful and the waitress was great.
Great fresh seafood. I ate here twice during a recent visit from New Mexico, and both times, the food and service was excellent! The first time, I enjoyed the walleye with the caper beurre blanc, the fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was nice and light and did not overpower the delicate fish. My friend had the pecan crusted whitefish, which was also delicious although I found the crust just a little too thick. On my second visit, we watched the Tigers baseball game at the bar, where I had the whitefish tacos and my friend had the lake perch. Again, both dishes were excellent, and the tacos had a sweet green sauce with them that I could have eaten an entire bowl of. The freshness of the fish was wonderful and appreciated, as there isnt a lot of fresh walleye, perch or whitefish in NM. We had a peanut butter mousse pie for dessert on one visit, which was also quite good, and the servers and bartender were always checking to see if we needed anything else. I wish we had a seafood place this good back home!
Average. When we arrived, we were told the wait was 90 minutes! On a Monday night! So, we hung out in the bar for 20 minutes to wait for a first come first serve booth. The service was good, the bar was hot, no air conditioning. My son got the prime rib and my husband got the walleye, both enjoyed their meals. I got the pecan encrusted whitefish and it was very bland, no seasoning!? Seemed a bit expensive for what we ordered.
The view is amazing!!! Food and service exceptional too. A do not miss. Go with seafood bisque and walleye, whitefish or lake perch…..the locals.
BEST FOOD ON THE BAY. We have been coming to TC for at least 8 years and have tried many of the fabulous resturants, but this is by far one of the best. If you like fresh seafood you NEED to come here, and when you do do yourself a favor and order the pecan crusted whitefish. Your welcome.
Best meal that I have ever had. We had a party of six at the Apache Trout Grill on July 3rd. The food was uniformly excellent as was the service. As a frequent traveler, I’ve developed a mental checklist for rating great restaurants. This includes things like do they fill the drinks before they are empty, etc. Along with the excellent food that all six of us enjoyed, they checked every box on my list. Great meal!
Baja Tacos (whitefish). Extremely good! Second only to a Fish Taco I had in Malibu, CA.
