We went for a late dinner last night an hour before they closed. The place was almost empty because of the time but we were well received and the service was really good. The place is nice inside with a family style atmosphere that reminded me of a stepped up Shoney’s or maybe it was even an old Perkins building. Just nice clean tables and booths with plenty of room. They brought out pull apart rolls, one savory and one cinnamon, both of which were really good. My BF had a spaghetti (Italian sausage) meal with salad bar for $12.99 and I had a patty melt with fries for $9.95. I thought the price was not bad but could’ve been a dollar or two lower for the type of dining. However, he really liked his spaghetti and my patty melt was good. The fries were really good. They seemed to be fresh cut and were fried and seasoned perfectly. All in all, it was a good choice that was even better because it was blocks from our motel!

This place is great! Service, customer relations an the food on the new menu is remenicent of their previous location… which was awesome. Truly comfortable food at a good price. You must eat here if you visit Traverse City!!

Disappointing pork chop. Do not order the pork chop at the Cottage. Overcooked. The serrated steak knife that the server brought to the table was no match for this piece of meat. Unfortunate and inedible.

Good Sun breakfast buffet. Corned beef hash made in house. But go straight for the french toast with cherry compote. Yum, yum and double yum.

The Cottage Caf has moved to the former Mables location. It is far better than Mables was, we were there for breakfast this morning. Breakfast was a little pricey but large portions with very fresh ingredients, will definitely go there again.
