Fieldstone’s still makes my favorite sandwiches in the city, in a very close race with Chef’s Inn. I think in the end I like everything about Fieldstone sandwiches slightly better except the bread, but their bread is excellent as well. It’s VERY vegetarian friendly, as their veggie sandwiches are cheaper and their list of cheeses, sauces and especially veggie options is very long. Cole slaw is a great veggie option if you’re stumped for a 4th choice after lettuce tomato onion, and you might want to order a tub of that and some other often delicious deli salads when you turn in your sandwich order card.Their soups can be amazing, but other times can be downright nasty – see if you can get a sample if something looks good. Their bean dip is great – my wife loves it. Their pizza is okay, but it’s never been a major draw for us. Their chicken is, in my opinion, not good. They used to have great wings very cheap (like $1.99lb cheap) that they gave out extra sauce cups with, but now they charge a LOT more and they aren’t nearly as good. This is really my only gripe – the rising prices. But that has been city-wide in the past few years, and really their prices have not risen nearly as much as most. It’s a bit of a drive for most people, but if you’re headed out to tour the peninsula, going out to Long Lake or boating, it’s a great place to fill a picnic basket or cooler. Their beer and liquor selection is also very respectable. Oh – people rave about their pepperoni bread. I think it’s a bit overrated, but it can be really good if you properly reheat it in the oven. Most things there are worth a try and you’ll probably find something you really like.
Hands down the best sandwiches around. Made fresh to order with an incredible selection of meats, toppings and bread. Perfect for a quick lunch or getting food to go!
Yup. The sandwiches are good, but don’t ignore everything else. The Pizza is pretty good, and everything I’ve had from the deli has been good too. Things seem to turn over pretty quickly so most of the items seem pretty fresh most of the time.
Customize your own sub, dozens of options and it all tastes amazing. I’ve been eating here before school everyday and its probably the best deli I’ve ever eaten ate. Service is great, friendly employees, and a wide variety of beverages and foods, including pizza! They even sell Moomer’s ice cream – even when Moomer’s is closed for the season!
This is no Subway style build you own sandwich shop. The ingediants are fresh, flavorful, and perfectly proportioned. The meats are fresh cut and piled on. Prices are right and service is excelent. To add to this they have a great selection of home made beverages.
Build your own sandwich. Filled with different options and toppers, try meat x3!
