Great Local Pizza. I have been eating at Pangea’s for years and love their pizza. It is strange to read some of the reviews concerning service since I have never experienced anything but kind, courteous and prompt service. Check out their large brick oven. Sure, food takes a few minutes longer than a chain pizzeria using a conveyor belt, but for me, it is worth the wait. I’ll take fresh, quality and locally-owned fare over a franchise every single time. The place is popular with locals and tourists alike. That says something.

EXPENSIVE!!!. I’m used to just ordering pizza without looking at prices. What a huge mistake. $63 for a salad, two child-sized pizzas, a medium with 1 topping and a large with 4 toppings. Outrageous. Pizza was good.

This is definitely the best pizza joint in northern Michigan. I specifically try scheduling a weekend each month to visit this restaurant. The sauce is great, mushrooms have a distinct taste that most places don’t have – you can taste the freshness and I am by no means a fungus lover, and the meats taste fantastic. The cheese bread is by far the best I’ve had anywhere. They offer soda that is made by northern woods, a local soda manufacturer. This is unique, and a great change from the same old coke, pepsi and 7-up products. Make it a point to stop in here if you are in Traverse City and looking for pizza.

Wonderful Food, Atmosphere, and Management!!!. I worked at Pangea’s as a hostess for over a year. Although they go through summer help quickly, there are a few waitstaff members who have been there a long time and are excellent. The managemnt is WONDERFUL, always treating employees well and extending warm hospitality to their customers. The ingredients are FRESH and the food DELICIOUS. I see some bad reviews for the Mexican pizza, which I cannot fathom because it was my favorite item on the menu!!!

Good food but not perfect. We popped into Pangea’s on a quiet afternoon when there were only a few customers. Sadly, we were seated in the walkway and the waitresses constantly banged into our table. The space is long and narrow with mismatched tables and decorated with fun, eclectic items from around the world: oriental panda paintings next to Swiss cow bells and African masks. There is a nice deck with umbrella patio tables out back. My husband really enjoyed his BLT panni with avocado and my nachos were fresh and delicious. But we waited almost 40 minutes! Our waitress said that all the food goes through the brick oven, but gee…it was only nachos and a panni! We heard other customers complaining to her about the long wait too.Prices were good, food was good, atmosphere was good…but I’d hate to see how long the wait would be if it was a busy time.

Good pizza. We ate in the restaurant late afternoon 4:00 and service was satisfactory. Pizza was excellent. Thin crust with some chewiness, rich flavored sauce. Asked for anchovies on the side for the caesar salad and they brought out generous amount. Salads matched pizza; excellent. Waitresses not the most friendly, maybe they don’t get it. But the pizza, worth it.
