Honestly I like the pie. A huge BUT, I placed a prepaid order online for TWO pies. I didn’t make it in to get them… I take responsibility for that… Life happens. But I went in to ask if they’d provide at least a store credit, even partial. I wasn’t even asking for a refund. One girl asked another and she said they don’t keep records of who had and hasn’t picked up their orders. Not true!! I’ve placed online orders before and picked them up and they have a list of names and they cross your name off at pick up. On to of that, you know fully well if your have uncollected pies at the end of the day!!! Again I accept my fault in the matter but to take and keep someone’s money for product not received, and not even offer as much as a store credit is unacceptable!! They’ve lost this, once good, customer!
Customer service could have been better. I ordered a Cherry Crumb pie from the Troy location and picked it up when it was available, 48 hours later. Unfortunately, the pie I was given was Strawberry Rhubarb (that wasn’t very good). There was no label on the packaging and I didn’t discover this until I was at my party, 15 miles away. I didn’t think it was a huge issue other than three people at the party were allergic to strawberries and couldn’t have any. I tried calling the location the next day after they opened but just kept getting an answering machine not equipped to receive messages. So I called the main location in Chesterfield and explained what happened. The lady I spoke with apologized and informed me that the manager of the Troy location would be contacting me. It’s been four days and I haven’t heard back from anyone at Achatz. They should probably consider clearly labeling their products and getting in touch with their customers when they say they will.
Fantastic pies, and soup the way soup should be!. I was introduced to the magic of Achatz several months ago with a cherry cheesecake pie. Suffice it to say that it would have been the best cherry pie I’d ever had without the cheesecake, and the cheesecake made it absolutely indulgent! Since then, I’ve had occasion to try many other flavors, and they’ve all been just as good. I especially enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb and peach strudel. (Only the pecan is not to my taste; it’s rich and carmelly where I was brought up to prefer an eggy custard.) I’ve also fallen in love with the soups. But be warned: once you try Achatz soup, you won’t be able to eat the canned kind anymore. The soups are all wonderfully thick and chock full of vegetables. The classic chicken noodle soup and vegetable barley are my favorites.
Great Pies!. Great pies to pick up and take home! We get at least one or two around every holiday.
THE BEST. No_photo_small The pies are DELICIOUS! I’ve never had anything that tasted so good. The pies literally are baked every morning! Tip sometimes they have some day old for a couple bucks off.I used to hate pie but it turns out I LOVE IT- as long as it is made with real stuff( turns out my mom only made them with canned fruit) WAY TO GO ACHATZ FOR USING REAL FRUIT!
Mmmmmm….. Pie. For breakfast I love the spinach and artichoke quiche. Yum!
