How about some margarine?. Absolutely deplorable. If you could care less what you put in your mouth, then by all means have at it. First thing they do is plop greasy margarine on the table. They advertise that they are very familiar with gluten but the waitresses had no idea what was gluten free and what wasn’t. None of the appetizers were gluten free. None of the potato dishes were gluten free except for the baked potato. Oh, and did I mention that they only use margarine? So, even if you did want a baked potato, you can’t even get real butter to go with it. Would not go back.
I like it. My wife and i have eaten ther for years, meals are always hot and delicious, the steaks are tender and every bit of it is edible little to no fat at all, service is friendly and the owner always very corgial when we see him. prices are very compatible with todays other dining options ( ie red lobster or outback) . will continue to eat there and reccomend it to anyone.
So you walk in and you’re immediately greeted by a warm face and fabulous smell. Absolutely no wait, but the house looks packed, we are escorted to a large seating area in the back and left to wait for the waitress. Service is quick. she’s in and out like a stealth bomber. I order the meatloaf he orders a steak… great portion size on each and very quick. Meat loaf smells amazing I can’t wait to dig in…I go for the potatoes first of course. Absolutely delish. Homemade for sure. I head for the meat loaf next. Mouth already watering, I take on a decent bite hoping to taste heaven…its cold. Not like room temp absolutely freezing. And very mediocre. As far as his steak went. He asked for rare and got it. But even a rare steak should feel warm. Not one bit…appetizer was great considering it was sent back once (our mistake not theirs) they handled it no problem. And the waitress was amazing and so was the staff but as far as food goes it just doesn’t quite hit the marker.
My family just finished our first dinner at Haab’s. Everyone’s food was excellently prepared. Portion sizes are generous and our server, Luis was wonderful!
Haabs. Absolutely terrible. I ordered the prime rib while my girlfriend ordered the fish. Later to find out they only make good burgers and fried fish. It atleast has to be better then what I ate. Frozen vegetables, unseasoned potatoes, fatty cold meat. Honestly I felt bad for the waitress having to serve this to humans. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. I opened this account to alert people of this horrible place. This is my first real complaint ever.
Home Style Meals. Haabs has been a fine dining institution of Ypsi for as long as I can remember. They have great tasting home style meals and great service. My husband and I love to eat here.
Quality Has Dropped. Haabs has been in Ypsi for generations. It was one of my favorite restaurants to find American-style home cooked meals during undergraduate. Dinners come complete with bread and salad. But the most recent visit was extremely disappointing.
