We’ve been here twice. It’s just ehh! Service was average. As much as we would like to support a local cafe owner. We could have had a better breakfast at Denny’s.
Food this average should not take an hour & 15 minutes to be served.. So I rarely write any online reviews, good or bad. But I had to on this place. So it’s Father’s Day and we visit there with a party of 7 + toddler, expecting there could be a wait, which was 10-12 minutes, which was OK. But from the time we were seated to when we got our food was ONE HOUR AND 15 MINUTES! Staff (especially the cooks) moved at a snail’s pace. After 45 minutes of no food – to see if they could rush the simple peanut butter & jelly sandwich for a hungry toddler – that took 15 minutes. Waitress forgot 3 things in our party’s orders and needed to be reminded to bring them. And all during the 105 minute wait for food – not once did they apologize for the wait or check on our drinks. Not a great Father’s Day. Food was OK – but not worth the visit.
Upon entering, I was blessed with a welcoming charm by a gentleman behind the counter. Seat yourself? Please wait to be seated? I hate to guess for the first 2 minutes when entering a diner or restaurant. This could be fixed. Not many seats…sat in back..depressing corner to be honest. Server got to us right away, nice guy. Food was basic, nothing special. I had the juicy lucy..which was far from juicy I must say. My buddy had the reuben…nothing special. If you like fries..not your place, you get about 6 on your plate. Good, but come on…what a cheap way to make a plate look fuller. Also had malts, describe it as melted ice cream in a cup…again, nothing special. Prices where fair, 13 and change for my burger and malt. Would I go back…yes…and try breakfast. Hopefully it is what makes this place because dinner sure does not. I like supporting local businesses but you got to do something different then the chains. Have a niche, have a special burger, have something. At least at abblebees I could have had a Michelob.
