Another Japanese Hibachi/Sushi restaurant in an ever expanding glut of these. I’ve been to many now and if nothing else it allows for easy apples-to-apples comparison.First off let me say that the servers here were exceptional. Friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable and seemingly just plain happy to be there sharing your Teppanyaki experience–that’s everyone from hostess to chef and all in between. They made the dining experience fun. Prices are the same as you would find at most others in the genre. Unfortunately, the food here misses the mark. While everything was cooked very well, it was the flavors that diasppointed. For appetizers we tried the Spicy Garlic Edamame and Gyoza. The dark garlic sauce coating the beans really didn’t add anything to the experience except a little heat. The Gyoza, while cooked to a delicate tenderness, were light on filling and what was there didn’t satisfy on the flavor front.Next up was the soup and salad course. Again, flavor on the salad dressing was weaker than I’ve experienced other places, and the clear soup had a strong flavor I can’t explain but it wasn’t the delicious broth my family fights over at our usual haunts. On the Hibachi front, steak, shrimp, chicken and especially the veg were all properly prepared though a bit heavy with salt & pepper. The vegetables were my pick of the lot simply because the seasonings in the sauces used on the proteins were not something I liked–your mileage may of course since we all like different tastes! Fried rice was good, soba noodles suffered from the same sauce situations, but overall portions were large and we all came away stuffed. I was disappointed in their version of Yum-Yum sauce as it was thinner than most and didn’t have as much flavor. Their version of the traditionally served ginger sauce was laced with a decent dose of wasabi which both eliminates it as an option for those not liking the heat profile, and tended to cover up the sweet tang from the ginger that I’ve come to enjoy on my steak nuggets elsewhere. What it comes down to for me is the fact that since there are so many of these places around relatively close by, it’s easy to vote preference by chosing the house flavors you prefer. For me that would be elsewhere.
Great place to eat ! Very good food and fun environment ! The best part about this place is the staff . Unlike some of the other Sushi restaurants around the staff is extremely friendly and courteous !

So fresh and visually stunning!17 Feb, 2015Another sushi restaurant. Yes I will admit I was surprised that another sushi restaurant opened up in the Blaine area. I will tell you that to me this one was different. The decor was not over the top, very modern and open. It felt like you were in an upscale restaurant but there prices were reasonable and the staff were amazing! The food was excellent and the way it was presented was the nicest I’ve ever seen. So yes another sushi/hibachi restaurant but this one has raised the bar, I will definitely be going back and recommending to my friends!
Not another sushi & hibachi restaurant. Does Blaine really need another one of these type of restaurants? It’s not any better than the others that have over populated this area. Over priced for the portion sizes and the food isn’t good.
