The last time I ate at a Chevy’s I was living in Denver, and that was more than a decade ago. The food is still good. Service – not so much. When we walked in the guy at the door tried to steer us to the bar, but we wanted a table. He seemed annoyed by that, sort of lead us to a table. The waiter was a bit better. He seemed to be more interested in getting us something to eat. Still, the food was good.

UNFRIENDLY Gluten Free. While the restaurant has a gluten free menu, that’s about as far as it goes for them with gluten free. ~ After a lengthy discussion with my server about gluten free (the menu has no prices so I was told I had to reference the regular menu for pricing), it was concluded I could not have the beef or chicken because the marinade was laced with gluten. I settled on shrimp fajitas – the menu specifically stated corn tortillas. The food arrived with flour tortillas and no server in sight. I nibbled on the shrimp while I waited – about 10 minutes, by which time I was frustrated, hungry and toying with anger. He confirmed that they were flour tortillas and would he like me to ask the kitchen for corn tortillas. UMMMMM. I said no, I’d like to just leave. I did report it to the manager, from the viewpoint of an educational moment – from a customer service, lack of training and for health reasons/concerns. I was cajoled with a $25 certificate which honestly, while it may seem generous, buys one meal and maybe a portion of a cocktail. And given the fact that their gluten free menu really is not followed/honored, why would I put myself in that scenario again? If you are gluten free, and particularly celiac, avoid this restaurant. It’s just not worth it.
