Best Coconut Shrimp in Minnesota. Kinkaid’s is one of the best restaurants in Minnesota. Since my first dining experience here in 1989 I have been impressed. If you want an enjoyable night out and excellent food this is the place to be. The setting is modern with a coat check greeting you as you enter. Parking is free and the door to Kinkaid’s is steps from your car. On our most recent visit, the greeter was freindly and quickly seated us. (Weekend reservations are needed, weeknight I am sure they can find you a table. Lunch can get busy as the restaurant is located on the first floor of a business office). The acoustics of the large open room keep the noise level in the restaurant low. Conversations are always private. Tammi our sever was professional and made great suggestions based on our questions. Service was fast. We ordered the salt crusted prime rib. It was awesome. The coconut shrimp was excellent as always. The texture and taste of the maytag blue cheese salad was fantastic. The fresh, hot bread with garlic and butter sets the tone for the meal. We always leave with a smile. Kinkaid’s remains a special place. Enjoy!
Unless you’re 45 and over or look like you have money, good luck getting service. After sitting at a table for 15 minutes going unnoticed (by literally six servers) a server finally came to greet us and get our drink order. We even had to ask for dinner menus. But then she left for another 15 minutes…. Meanwhile, four older gentlemen walk in, get seated next to us, order drinks, get their drinks and are asked if they wanted to order food, all in a matter of ten minutes by OUR server. My boyfriend and I had every intention of ordering food (what else would we be there for?) but after being treated like we were lower class citizens, we paid our tab, gave her a 15% tip, and left. I would have loved to try their food, we even had everything picked out, the food looked amazing, but due to crappy service, we won’t be going back there.
Can’t Go Wrong. This is a great restaurant!Every time that I’ve dined at Kincaid’s the service and food have been great. They could have the best calamari that I’ve ever tasted.I had the Filet Mignon and even though it cost 45.95 it was outstanding, melting in my mouth. My friend had the Braised Short Ribs and they just fell off the bone.
The fish was delicious and the Lobster bisque is a must if you haven’t tasted it. Absolutely mouthwatering. Beautiful atmosphere and first rate service.
Great service and atmosphere, food was a little disappointing.. I had high expectations for Kincaid’s, but the food was not up to par. The restaurant is located on the main floor of a business building, but isn’t enclosed, so the open atmosphere was nice. Service was A+, our waitress was very attentive and we enjoyed an excellent crme brle on the house for our anniversary. We ordered oysters on the half shell for an appetizer, which were top notch. Unfortunately, his steak was over-seasoned (on the plus side, perfectly rare), and my scallops were very, very buttery. The broccolini and side vegetables were overly buttered as well, but the mashed potatoes were really good.Overall, service was great, atmosphere was great, but food was a little disappointing considering the price. I’ll probably give this place another shot though.
Steaks were perfect. We had another great meal at Kincaid’s. My husband and I both had the sirloin chateau steaks and they were tender, tasty, and cooked to perfection. Served with a garlic-mustard aioli that was a great addition. I also recommend the corn bread appetizer, served with a honey butter – yummy. The service and the ambience are top notch as well.
