We like to stop by here late at night – after 10 usually. Comfortable atmosphere, pleasant/prompt service and decent food (good value for the price point) keeps us coming back compared with other more pricey places. Certainly one of the nicer and larger Perkins I’ve been to.
I knoew why they are bankrupt. It was a ‘cut above’ the Embers, now it’s a cut below. Perkins manages to get about $9 for 2 eggs (and the eggs they use are the size of quail eggs) , hashbrowns, and coffe. Add in the tax and tip – you’re paying $11 for a real mediorce breakfast – made mostly with frozen ingredients.
Perkin’s Tom Rocks.. I’ve never been here in the light of day, but I often go around 10pm or so. We’ve all been to a Perkins, so I’ll save you the review (they have great pancakes, bad coffee and so-so diner fare). What you really need to know is that Perkins Tom is fantastic. Tom’s the tall waiter with the big voice at Perkins Bloomington (France, just north of 494) and he has nothing better to do than make sure you’re enjoying yourself. You’ll spot him in the back corner waiting on several tables of late-teens to early 20 somethings there to be a little loud and enjoy each others’ company or study or just prolong the evening.
Just keeps getting worse. While not my favorite place, we do go here for breakfast once in a while. I have noticed that lately the prices are going up! Typical Frozen foods heated up = low quality and rubber eggs. Only saving grace is they have about the best syrup in the world and great muffins. stick with those and some coffee and you will be fine. And make sure to use the coupons they put out once in a while.
