It’s a roast beef place. Don’t bother with anything on the menu other than roast beef… Sandwich or open face. You won’t be disappointed. And a chocolate shake for dessert!

I’m a sucker for roast beef sandwiches. I even liked the old Hardee’s roast beef as well as Arby’s. Last time I went to Arby’s, I had a fat binge session between the sandwich and curly fries, and it sent me to the hospital for gallbladder attack. But, hey.. I can’t quit roast beef sandwiches especially now that I found Wally’s….It was a little hard to find and the location and the theme were a little not synchronized for me. It’s an office building! I didn’t expect a roast beef diner inside. The line was out the door at lunch, so if you want something in and out, this is not the place. Though, the line moved pretty fast. It was hard to find silverwares and extra napkins too. You have to ask the counter people but they’re busy moving that line. The first time I went, I ordered the French Dip. This time around I tried their roast beef sandwich with au jus with french fries, which was similar to French Dip except it had different bun. It was still yummy but next time I would get the French Dip again. The malt shakes also look awesome! I didn’t try though. Blue plate special (Big plate of hot roast beef sandwich with mashed and gravy) would have been something I wanted to try, but I had to go back to work and didn’t want to nap there. Looking at it, I imagined I would feel so happy and full and curl up and sleep. Bottom line, great food, cheap, sliced to order roast beef that’s to die for!

Hands down. Jeff has no clue. His food his customer service skills. Not. He paid me $7 50 an hour.I have a degree in food service directors. He let his employees steal my tips. Yet he is still in business , he also choose not to pay my unemployment. Two calls unemployment judge. He did not answer. Mary

REAL roast beef sandwiches. Roast beef is what they are famous for here, and their other main dishes are just so-so. Well I guess their shakes are also quite good and a lot of people get the onion rings, although I’ve never tried them. But if you come here, order the roast beef sandwiches. This is real beef, not the pressed-loaf, salty, slimey stuff that Arby’s uses on their sandwiches. (Actually, back in the ’70s, Arby’s used real roast beef … can you believe it?)Wally’s roast beef is sliced thin and is very tender, with a very good seasoning added. We come here regularly, and the owner and staff (on weekdays anyway) seem to know all the regulars and the service is very good, although sometimes slow. Anyway, the restaurant could be even better if it made the following improvements, which would not only make customers happier, they would likely make the restaurant more profitable:* Make sure beef portions and spices are consistent on sandwiches. The amount of meat on the sandwiches varies. Sometimes we get skimpier sandwiches and sometimes we get a good-sized portion of meat on them. Also, sometimes the meat tastes like it has no spices and sometimes it has a good dose of the spices they put on. I like a good bit of the spice on it, but it never seems consistent.*Get fountain pop like virtually every other restaurant has! If you want a Diet Coke or any other kind of soda, you will be served a can, and of course there are no free refills on a can of pop. I’m a pop-o-holic, and because the restaurant doesn’t have fountain pop, we’ll usually order our food to go, and go grab a fountain pop at the nearby Holiday station and eat in the car. * Expand your hours: They are only open for lunch, Monday-Saturday. Our kids love this place, so because of school, we can only go one day and bring them: Saturday for lunch. But we’re often busy on Saturdays. Would be nice if they were open for dinner as well, and Sunday’s would be nice.UPDATE: As of Jan. 1, 2011, this restaurant is moving to a new location in an office building near Penn and 494. They say they’ll have more parking and more seating. Let’s home they get a fountain pop machine and offer free refills, too!

Its ok. The roast beef is good you do’t get much so its little pricy they need to toast the buns. The downside is the sandwitch is cold and the fries to.
