Used to be the best buffet in the metro years ago. Now its not worth eating at. Food choices have reduced, quality is WAY down, and worst of all they switched from Coke to Pepsi!Seriously though, I don’t know if ownership changed or what but the food is no where near what it used to be. A couple offerings tonite were not even warm enough to eat (scarey in a buffet!)I have been eating there since the 90’s and will not be goong back anymore.
I would give them a zero if I could. The worst experience I have ever had at any establishment that I have been to…HANDS DOWN! After getting my first (and only) plate of food I took 1 bite of each of the items on my plate. The rib meat was off, the beef and broccoli was under seasoned except for the salt, and the cooked plantain was under cooked and cold. My wife was a little more tolerant of the shrimp she had but when she got to her spring roll it tasted spoiled. Between the two of us we maybe ate a half plate of food and half of our pops each. We were hesitant to leave but couldn’t eat any more. I decided I would go up and tell the cashier and host, neither of whom spoke English well enough to have a rational conversation with, that I was dissatisfied with my experience and that we were leaving. They offered no apologies and instead proceeded to ring me up for the full price of my meals. I refused. I told them we had barely ate anything. They didn’t care and their lack of sympathy was really upsetting. We had literally been in the building for less then 10mins.I have never eaten anywhere where the staff has a complete disregard to the quality of a diners experience! Then they said they’d call the cops. We thought that sounded like a good idea. Surely the cops would see things our way. The cops seemed sort of baffled by the establishments choice to charge us…but apparently there is a contract to pay after you bring back ANY food to your table at a buffet. So be warned if you’re going to eat at a buffet you better like it because you have to pay for it even if the food and service are awful. The cop was able to negotiate half price. Paid $12 for the worst dining experience I have ever had.
Review. We have not been to this restaurant for a few years, and yesterday we decided to stop. We got there about 2:30, and there was 2 empty tables. The food was great, and they kept the pans full all the time. The Hibashi grill and sushi were terrfic. It was very much improved since we were there last, the food was good then, but the restaruant looked kind of old, and not spiffed up. One thing that has not changed, is the ladies bathroom. It is not kept up, and there was toilet paper on the floor, the waste baskets over flowing and just nasty. The same for the men’s bathroom. You wash your hands and come out feeling grimey. If they can get that solved, it would be a 4 star restaurant.
New King Sunday Night!. Stopped at the New King–probably 10th time in last 4 years. 2 adults, 2 kids. The kids always enjoy the variety although don’t eat too much. The place was clean, great variety, staff was attentive. New foods brought out throughout our visit. Restaurant was probably 1/3 full, not too busy. Was fairly clean although could use a utensil round-up periodically to ensure cleanliness of buffet area. Probably not the best part of town but there is a Target across the street and a county library/court a block away, could be a lot worse. Give it a 6/10. Satisfied.
Great food!. I have been coming here since 1999. I may not always enjoy the staff but who cares! the food is always fresh and hot and yummy! This is one of the main things why I keep coming back… fresh and hot! And their snow shrimp or whatever it is called (the tempura shrimp with the white honey glaze) is the BEST anywhere around! And their boneless ribs and cream cheese wontons are the BEST too! Love this place. Price is right and food is always ALWAYS great! 5 stars! 10 if I could!
YUCK!. Horrible service in a very bad part of town. The employees there are clearly disgruntled and they give attitude to the customers. Very poor job of keeping the selections stocked and fresh/hot. Left after trying 2/3 of a plate.
Alright. I went there today for dinner. First of all the servers do not know very good English. If you ask them anything except a refill they will direct you to the floor manager. There is a variety of food but didn’t seem very fresh. There is a mogolian barbecue section where you can take raw food out of the salad bar and the chef will fry it in front of you. If you are looking for a great seafood buffet this is not the one. You might want to go to the C1 Buffet a mile away for that. I paid about $12 after tax for a buffet dinner. Parking available. Overall its ok.
