Used to be my FAVORITE!. But I went today and ordered the chicken chow mein and it was tasteless. There was virtually no sauce. I picked up the order to go and they didn’t even give me soy sauce to add some flavor. I was there about two months ago and had the same item, even though it had little to no sauce, it still had some flavor. I think I will be trying someplace new. Closing time?. I am disappointed. We have eaten here for over twenty years. Tonight we were refused dining service because the restaurant was scheduled to close in twenty minutes. The staff, who didn’t look familiar, we’re grumpy and disinterested in even polite eye contact. The matriarch looked angry at our imposition. It will be hard for me to give the village house in Brooklyn Center my business in the future.
Large portions with no flavor. While the service is quick and the staff is very kind and attentive, the food left a lot to be desired. We received very large portions, but who needs that when there is no real flavor? The soup is scalding hot, and flavorless, the egg rolls made you feel dirty for eating all the grease and flavorless. The dipping sauce, flavorless and thin. It was pretty busy when we were there and all I could think was…why???
Egg rolls – hot and spicy chicken – awesome!!. We’ve been going to Que Viet for over 25 years. Their egg rolls, chicken wings are great starters. The egg rolls are the family favorite and the best we’ve had anywhere! The hot and spicy chicken is the best meal and again a family favorite. Some of our other favorites: chicken chow mein, chicken lo mein, beef and potatoes, chicken egg foo young and the cream cheese wontons. We love Que Viet….actually get to a point of CRAVING it…enjoy!!
Not worth it. The food was ok at best. I was excited to try eggrolls after all the reviews, but I did not like them. They were overloaded with pork and I really couldn’t taste anything else. Will not go back.
One of the best Viet Eggrolls in the Metro. Believe the HYPE the eggrolls are awesome. The rest is…eh…just go for the eggrolls.
When my kids were in college in Chicago they would yearn for Que Viet. Every break they would bring friends home – and we would bring multiple food choices home an yum our way through dinner and leftovers.We love everything – but I will mention the egg rolls, the cream cheese wontons, the chicken egg foo yung, sweet and sour chicken or pork…the lunch salad that has egg rolls on top…too many things to mention. Sigh…now I might need to go there tomorrow…Yum!
